Blogger Does It Again

 Good Morning All!

How are you?  I'm frustrated!  Once again Blogger has done "something" and I am no longer receiving your comments via e-mail.  And here I thought no one loved me anymore!  I don't usually look at my own blog, but yesterday I did since I had not seen any comments come in via email.  Surprise!  They were there.  I can't find anything wrong, settings seem to be the same, except that I can't find anywhere that says comments will be emailed to me.  I will try to fool around with it over the weekend.  Gggrrrrrrrrr

Anyway, I was very busy yesterday (and today promises to be more of the same), so I did not have time to get back to anyone.  But, I wanted to say thanks for your kind words.  I don't blog to get followers or get lots of comments, but I do enjoy hearing from you all and I do appreciate your taking the time to comment.

Colin did come over last night - just as a heavy thunderstorm was starting.  He did get his second jab and he is paying attention to how he is feeling Lyme-wise.  Hopefully that one time two-pill shot will work for him (thanks Bonny for your comment that John's doctor said it only works for about 60% of folks - I relayed that info to Colin).  We all liked the new shrimp recipe I tried, so that will show up on another Thursday post sometime!

The BIG news is that Colin & Mailing are moving to Texas in January.  It is only for two years and they are not selling their house up here.  They will be moving down for Mailing's work and will look for a furnished house to rent.  The market is crazy everywhere but extra crazy in Austin where they will be.  Mailing's co-worker had a list of 5 houses to look at and by the time his flight landed in Austin all 5 had been sold!  So, just as well they will be renting.  They are heading down at the end of June to check out neighborhoods to see where they might want to live.  Of course they will be taking Marcel & Talbot with them.

That will be a very big adjustment for us.  We've gotten so accustomed to seeing those kids ALL the time.  But, as I told several people, we did not raise Colin to stay close to home.  And, Austin is closer than South Korea (where Colin spent a year teaching after college).  Plus Austin is a FUN town (we have been there before), so we will just have to visit.

Well, time for a second cup of coffee and prepare for my conference calls.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend - Enjoy!!

  1. go into your setting and unsubscribe to your email notifications, save, then resubscribe to getting emails and save. Blogger is goofy. WOW to the news!! I love your attitude and I need you to rub some of that good attitude on me :)

  2. I'm a UT grad (Hook'em Horns!) and you're so right -- Austin is a GREAT place to be! I'm glad it's only for 2 years . . . it's hard to have your kids away. (Brian and Lauren are moving closer to us because Brian just got a new job. They entered the "rent" market and found it to be as crazy as the housing market, unfortunately. Lots of houses that used to be available to rent are now on the "sell" market, so there are not many to choose from. Luckily, they found a perfect house -- and had to snap it up and sign a lease before Tom and I could even do a drive-by for them! It's nuts out there. . . )

  3. I was going to say the same thing that Karen did re: stupid blogger. It's worked for me and I hope it works for you, too. And a big wow to C&M's news! I am crossing my fingers that they find a wonderful place to rent. It's great that you will have a new place to visit and have fun with them in Austin!

  4. Wow! That is Big News! I know you'll miss them greatly, but at least you have an endpoint. You've got a terrific perspective about the situation.

  5. That will be a very big change! But you have the right attitude, and it's good to know that it will be temporary.

Sorry about the Blogger issues. I hope you're able to fix it so you can get comments again! I have not had the same issue, but every now and then a comment gets posted that I never get emailed. It's all very strange.

  7. Ugh. Blogger. Last week it was photos loading for me a some other people.
Wow! That's big news about Colin and Mailing. I know how that is. Boy, do I know. Now you will have a fun place to visit and it's only temporary. I hope they find the perfect place to rent. The housing market is insane everywhere right now.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. The housing/rental market is crazy! I hope Colin and Mailing can find a nice place to live. Blogger has been giving me fits for over a year with email comments, but only for three readers/commenters. Have a good day and a great weekend.

  12. When you said Texas, my first thought was YIKES the market is crazy there. I think it may even be worse than our market. I know Dave and I were VERY lucky to get our place, and we know we only truly got it because it needed work (and we still had to offer over asking)
I hope they have a wonderful time there. I hope they will still send you pictures of Marcel and Talbot to share with the blog from time to time!

  13. How exciting for them! It is hard to see them go so far but it does make you proud that they are accomplishing so much out there in the big world. I was raised to stay close to home and I regret it. The first Mister and I would probably still be married if my parents had let us move to where he was happy which was upstate New York.

  15. Austin is a great town. But I am still sad they are moving, but happy it is only for two years. They will love it and you can visit lots and lots. Stay safe my friend.

  16. Kids do go their own way and Austin will be a great place to visit. It is a big adjustment when they leave the area but thank goodness for technology. It's very helpful. I tried to comment on blogs while I was gone but often my comment was not published so I gave up and waited until I got home. I think we all understand that sometimes it is hard to get all the reading, commenting, and responding done.
