Unraveled Wednesday 04/22/20

Good Morning!

It's Unraveled Wednesday (just in case anyone has lost track of what day it is).  Yesterday I mentioned starting a new sock and here it is:

Pretty and fun colors, huh?  I wanted something to work on that was colorful and this definitely fits the bill.  The yarn is from Spun Right Round (80/20 blend) and the colorway is "Rumble in Brighton."  I'm calling it Tutti Fruity though.  I need to look through my sock yarn scraps because I think I want to do the heels in hot pink and the toes maybe in a lime green.  Just for fun.  And to mix things up.  So far I am planning these to be for my SIL in CO.  She was thrilled to get socks from me last Christmas and...hopefully...will be thrilled again.

On the crochet front, I didn't even finish the 4th granny square.  Yesterday ended up being extremely busy work-wise and in the evening I didn't seem to have the power to concentrate enough.

Reading isn't any better either.  I've tried a couple of new books, but just can't get into them.  I think I will go back to one of the memoirs I have on my Kindle.  I love that genre and am hoping that will spur my reading on.

Today the bathrooms WILL get cleaned.  That didn't happen yesterday since I got so busy.  Exciting times, I know.  The winds are high - they woke me during the night howling around the house.  It is still windy this morning.

As usual, linking up with Kat for Unraveled Wednesday.  Head on over to her blog to see what she and others are making and reading.

  1. I keep thinking about trying crochet again too. But it doesn't happen. Love your new colorful sock knitting. Books -- it's hard to get into books these days, isn't it? Luckily I've gotten into a series now that should last me a while. I hope. lol!

  2. Hello, I like the Tutti Fruity sock, very pretty colors. I usually stick to reading mysteries/rime/suspense books. I found a series on Netflix I started binge watching. Cleaning house is my least favorite activity. It is cold out there today, I wanted to take a walk. Take care, enjoy your day!

  3. The winds here were nuts yesterday, but they have calmed a bit this morning. And we even have sun and clear skies! I love that sock yarn! Hmm, maybe I need to do some online retail therapy and get some speckly yarn!

  4. That yarn is fabulous (and just what I want to knit with now)! My Nervous Breakdown is also from Spun Right Round, and I may have to search for some Tutti Fruity for myself. Hot pink toes and lime green heels will look awesome!

  5. Tutti-frutti is a pefect name for your yarn! :-) I love the happy colors -- and I'll bet your SIL will, too. Maybe we should make a pact: you clean your bathrooms today, and I'll mop my kitchen floor! XO

  6. That yarn is just so much fun! It looks like a Funfetti cake. It would make me hungry to work on it.

  8. That yarn reminds me of those Lofthouse cookies. Those things are addictive. Rick eats a whole package while watching TV.

Love the idea of the bright toes and heels. Such fun!

I wish you hadn't brought up Cleaning Bathrooms. Ugh. Now I feel guilted and shamed into at least Thinking About mine. And vacuuming. Lord, how I hate vacuuming. CATS! CAN YOU NOT HOLD IT ALL IN!?!?!?

  10. The yarn reminds me of a bag of candy. It's so fun and I think the heel/toe idea is great. My big plans for the day are vacuuming and cleaning toilets. I actually had the energy to wipe down all the counters in the bathrooms and kitchen yesterday. Why is it I can't seem to get myself to clean these days? It's not like I have a lot of things going on in my life? And reading? Ha! I can't concentrate to read or craft. It's like my brain flits from one thing to another.
I hope you accomplish all that you plan to today.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  11. Your yarn reminds me of confetti cake. I force myself to read a little bit each day - I'm having trouble focusing and getting into books as well. I'll blame the current affairs for that.

  17. Tutti Fruiti looks like a good name for that yarn. I also enjoy memoir. What are some of your favorites? I say we all just put one foot in front of the other these days. If the bathrooms don't get cleaned today, they will still be here tomorrow. We are also having a hard time keeping the days straight.
