Friday Felines

Hello, Hello!

It was a wild afternoon yesterday!  The wind whipped up and I received multiple texts/emails/phone alerts regarding severe weather.  Thunder and lightening and rain but mostly such strong winds (are we still in March??).  We did lose power briefly, but not as long as some.  A work buddy of Colin's reported large hail.

But, by late afternoon all but the wind had subsided.  We were able to Skype with Colin which was so nice.  Mailing popped in to say hi, as well as Talbot & Marcel.  We may actually go over to their place on Sunday night for a fire...keeping our distance and not even going inside to use the bathroom!  We can bring our own chairs and beverages.  I hope we do it - it will be so wonderful to see them again.

Meanwhile, the other member of the house has been lounging:

Such contentment!  He is like this most days - or sprawled across one of the beds upstairs.  Luckily I haven't seen or felt any ticks on him in a week or so.

Not sure what the day holds.  It's Good Friday (or as my company calls it:  Spring Observance - to be politically correct) and is usually a day off, but I've got a conference call at 10 and a few financial reports to wrap up.  I am not sure about walking - it's a bit overcast again (I haven't looked at the weather to see what's in store for us) - but if it clears up and I can get out, I will!

One thing for sure, it will be a strange Easter weekend.  I hope you all are healthy and safe!

  1. Tyg may have the best strategy for dealing with the pandemic. He looks so relaxed! John's company is calling today Spring Break Day, but it's still Good Friday no matter what you call it. Today is supposed to be another very windy day here but I hope to walk also. Stay well, Vera!

  2. I can see why Tyg has chosen that spot for a nap -- it looks so inviting and comfortable! XO We had thunderstorms a couple of days ago -- and Wednesday it was 70 degrees. Yesterday? It snowed. ;-) Happy Easter weekend, Vera.

  5. Just so you know, I've alerted PETA. Clearly you have been making poor Tyg work harder than necessary, you hearless person. ;-)

  6. Yesterday we had, in rapid succession: rain, snow, sunshine, hail, sunshine, rain, sunshine.

This morning, I woke up to snow. And high winds. I blamed Rick because against my advice he put the snow shovels away on Tuesday. So everyone can blame my husband (and I got to say "I told you so").

I do hope you can get together with your family! While I will NOT miss the huge, noisy, stressful Easter with our massive extended family, I do miss my sons and their girlfriends.

Have a great weekend (and tell Tyg to relax)!

  8. Sharing a fire and conversation sounds great right now. Video chats are good but just not the same. Have a blessed Easter.

  10. Aw Tyg! he looks so much like Relic!

We got the wind yesterday (and today), and a few cities around us go snow, but our little bubble stayed dry and mostly sunny. It's cold though - I had to put the heat back on.

  11. I love a sleepy kitty. Right now the winds are fierce here again. I spent yesterday in the lower level hoping the trees all stay where they belong. I guess I am going to have to go back there again now. Ugh...

  12. Tyg looks so comfy, he makes me want to climb back into bed myself!
I'm so excited! After over a week, I finally got a pickup time for a grocery order. I set the alarm for midnight, 2 and 4 a.m. because I was told they open up times at midnight. At 4 a.m. I finally got a time...for Monday at a store an hour or so away. That's okay, it will get me out of the house for a drive! Too late for an Easter ham so I'll have to find something in the freezer. It's all good. I know I'll have more supplies on Monday!
I hope you have a great time with Colin and Mailing...from far away!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  16. I hope you get to go to your son's house for a fire. We had our son and his family over yesterday and we did the social distancing but still got to chat out on the deck.
