Good Morning!
Wow! What a day yesterday (and the night before). The high/strong winds continued ALL day and we had tornado warnings from late morning until 6 or 7 last night. It was crazy. We ended up with around 2" of rain overall and our ground has been so saturated, that some of that water ended up in the basement. Fletch mopped up 3 bucket-fulls!
But, everything calmed down in the evening and I slept 9 hours last night! Woo-Hoo.
It was a slow day at work, so I took out my bread machine which I had not used in at least a year and made some pumpernickle bread!
The top looks a little squished in the picture above, but it wasn't and the bread tasted delicious. We had some with dinner last night (which was asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and then broiled - yum!!).
After dinner, Tyg took over the table while I worked on my knitting.
(Yes, a clean tablecloth will be going on the table this morning!). His head kept bobbing up and down while he was sprawled like this. Too cute with the crossed paws.
A flurry of work emails came in over night, so I think today will be a little busier. I'd best pour another cup of coffee and get ready for it. Hope your day is a great one! Stay well!
Oh, I am so glad you are ok--what a wind swept across our country!
ReplyDeleteTyg is so relaxed! (Yes, cats on our table, too, unless we are eating!)
Yesterday was a wild weather one, but thankfully no tornadoes. I'm glad today is calmer and sunnier. Your bread looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI did not like that storm yesterday! So nerve wracking! Glad you made it through. We did too. Your lavender socks are looking nice!
ReplyDeleteThose little crossed paws!!!! So sweet! I hope your day is a calm one today. XO
ReplyDeleteWe have sunshine today! I am glad that we had no damage during those winds!
ReplyDeleteTyg is a tabby cat Sphinx! He looks quite formidable.
ReplyDeleteI love pumpernickel. Especially thickly sliced and slightly toasted. I imagine homemade is even more wonderful.
Water in the basement is the worst. We get it, too, when the rain beats in heavily from the southwest.
I'm wondering if all of the storms you all had out west was part of the system we had Friday night and Saturday with 50-60 mph winds. It was crazy and non-stop all day. I'm glad that the worst you had was water in the basement and no tornadoes.
ReplyDeleteTyg. He is the reigning king and it's obvious. :-). Those paws are so cute.
Blessings,
Betsy
Oh Tyg. He's so handsome. I agree homemade bread is awesome. And it is snowing here . Tiny light flakes mock us as we look outside. I already went out to pick out the ice from the bird bath. The male cardinal was looking at me from atop it, saying, "HEY we need water here folks. Dont stop today !"
ReplyDeleteThe smell of homemade bread is divine! ❤️ the photo of Tyg.
ReplyDeleteYesterday was awful We kept getting warnings and taking shelter downstairs and then......nothing. We didn't even get any wind. Just a bit of rain. I didn't sleep the night before and I was a wreck with worry. Better safe than sorry but jeesh. I sure didn't need that extra stress.
ReplyDeleteKitty is so cute with those little crossed paws!
Hello, We had the tornado watches here too, lots of rain and wind. Your bread looks delicious, I have never tried making bread. The photo of Tyg looks so cute. I hope you are having a good day!
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how you are having such crazy wild weather and we're having sunshine and blue skies and no wind. It is supposed to get up to 70 deg. today! Tyg looks adorable with the crossed paws. Have a super week! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather and I'm so glad y'all are OK.
ReplyDeleteA little calmer day is nice. We had quite a storm early Sunday - like 4:30 a.m. Sat was warm and sunny and then the front blew in with lightning and hail. Easter Sunday was cold, wet, and dreary but no matter it was a good day for being indoors. I hope the basement dries out and stays that way.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet your furbaby is posed. When I saw the bread I thought it was chocolate. I used to make chocolate bread in the machine along with honey oatmeal and a very good whole wheat. Hmmm. I have two machines that aren't in use, maybe it's time again.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!
