Hello There!
How are you doing? I'm well and I slept better last night despite hearing foxes in the night. But it is another overcast day here. It looks like the sun is trying to peek out, but so far the dark clouds are winning.
Yesterday my little brother in Boulder, CO texted me saying that his granddaughter (my great niece) thinks that everyone should carry a six foot stick for social distancing...then one can use that stick to whack those who don't stay six feet away! Here she is with her stick:
Makes me think of Teddy Roosevelt and his saying: "Walk softly but carry a big stick." LOL
I've got another project to work on today (work-wise), but plan/hope to get more knitting done.
On the bright side I heard on my conference call yesterday that discharges at NYC hospitals are way up and that numbers of people being admitted are way down. That's positive. Of course there are new hot spots waiting to happen (specifically we discussed New Orleans and Dallas).
That's it for me this morning. Time to fix a second cup of coffee and get moving! Have a wonderful day.
I am chuckling at her idea! I wish I could do that to my darned neighbors who lack all sense of social distancing!
ReplyDeleteI love her stick idea! Clever girl! :-)
ReplyDelete(I live in a Very Compliant area. Everyone keeps their distance -- and everyone is wearing masks in public!)
I'm about ready to adopt that six-foot stick idea for when I take my walks. I love both the distance-keeping and the whacking aspects!
ReplyDeleteYour niece is very smart!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea from your grand-niece. I could use that on my walks. Still so many clueless people (or they are in denial).
ReplyDeleteWe in Ohio have been told that our peak will be in a couple of weeks.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteYour niece is smart and I like that Roosevelt quote. NYC is ahead of the rest of the country, I hope our peak is happening too. Take care, enjoy your day and week ahead.
Saw a photo of a man with a tape measure pulled out to six foot on the grocery cart.
ReplyDeleteMy sis has been on lockdown for over 2 weeks in Spain. When we spoke over the weekend, she said that their president is beginning to consider easing restrictions... slowly!
ReplyDeleteSmart girl. I saw a guy on a video who had a thing made with tent poles that he wore over his head outside. It was very enlightening for a lot of people to actually see what the 6 foot rule meant. The west side of our state, (Seattle) has been "flattening the curve" for a few weeks ago, our side of the state is still going up. They are calling it the "wave" effect. I'm ready for some good news.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I'm so glad to hear things are looking up in New York - things looked so dire there for so long! We are excited as we had some new garden beds delivered yesterday and tomorrow the soil will be delivered and shot into the beds. I look forward to growing our own fresh veggies. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, we all need sticks! I’ve been sewing masks for friends, family, and church members, like a mad woman - nearly 50 since a Friday. I’m ready for a new project.
ReplyDeleteLove the stick idea!
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty photo!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a stick. Smart girl. It is also encouraging to think that NYC may be turning a corner.
