Unraveled Wednesday 04/15/20

Good Morning and Happy Unraveled Wednesday!

How is it already the middle of April?  The past few weeks have really flown by for me.  I'm busier than I expected with work, so there's that.  And, I guess just adjusting to life at home ALL the time has settled in.  Anyway, the days are fleeting, but we are doing well.

Lavender Sock #2 is moving along nicely.  Here's where it was last night before I went to bed.

The heel has been turned and I am roughly half way down the foot shooting for the toe decreases later today.

I managed to get out for a walk yesterday afternoon.  It was a little overcast and a bit breezy, but it felt good to be outside.  I walked at the Lower Perkiomen Park in Oaks thinking it would be drier than the trail by the canal (the Oaks trail is paved).  Well, there were a lot of places where water was across the entire trail, but some I was able to skirt around on the grass and some I just walked through.  The river was high after the rain of the other day and at the dam the water was moving very fast.

You can see how muddy it is too.  It was also kind of stinky.  There is a sewage treatment plant not too far away...I'm hoping that had not spilled over.....

I was happy to see Bluebells in bloom!

Later in the afternoon I did some archery and discovered we have a wild cherry in bloom by our shed!

The buds are a very dark pink, but once open the flowers are white with just a tinge of pink on them.  Very pretty.

Once again, not much (in fact nothing) on the reading front.  And now all the books I had taken out on Overdrive are zipping back over the airwaves .  That's ok - maybe someone who is better able to concentrate these days and read will enjoy them.  I can always request them again.

Colin texted the other day that he loves the Canary Blanket - he wrapped up in it to watch TV after we left Sunday night.  And then yesterday he texted this picture:

Apparently Marcel approves of it as well!

Linking up with Kat for Unraveled Wednesday.  Hope your week is going well.

  1. I have never seen a bluebell before and this is the second time in 24 hours I've seen folks post about them. They are pretty. I haven't been out of our little hole in the woods in so long I forgot all about the flowering cherry trees at the top of the hill. I bet they were beatiful this year. It was such a good one for blooms.

  2. I love seeing all the early spring blooms! It is such a comfort to see them - despite the abnormality of life right now, nature marches forward in the best way! I love that photo of the orange cat on the yellow blanket!

  3. Wow, it seems like you have knit the second sock almost instantly! Your spring photos are very welcome, and it's always a pleasure to see your handknits being enjoyed by the recipients! Marcel looks like he's in heaven with a wonderful blanket, a sunbeam, and a nap!

  4. Bluebells are my favorite spring flower! (They're so charming.) I saw buds on mine the other day, but we usually don't have blooms until around Mother's Day here -- so thanks for sharing your lovely blooms. (Besides . . . it's snowing here again today.) XO Love the photo of the kitty enjoying Colin's new blanket.

  5. It's not really a blanket until it's Cat Approved!

I'm glad you got out for your walk even though it was muddy and not so aromatic in a good way. I braved cold winds here and got out, too. It made a big difference in my day. Glad I did; we're getting snow--UGH--the next two days. I told Rick he jinxed us by putting the shovels away!

  6. Hello, the muddy water does not look pretty. We saw some fast moving streams in our area, we must have had a lot of rain. I love the bluebells too, they are a pretty spring flower. Looks like the kitty loves the blanket you made. Wishing you a happy day!

  9. The blooms are beautiful: nothing says spring like cherry or apple blossoms. Snowing here again today, so your blossoms are the only ones for awhile. Obviously, Marcel knows a good thing when he sees it!

  10. Beautiful blooms...we still have none to speak of here. The one patch of crocus' I saw a week or so ago must have been an anomally. I love the photo of Marcel curled up the the blanket. It must be a cozy one if he's appropriated it.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  16. Oh I'd love to see some wild Bluebells. The cherry blossoms are pretty too. Isn't it wonderful that your blanket is well received? Your attitude about the overdrive books is like mine. If I get them read or listened to well and good. I think if my Kindle were newer, I might be able to return them sooner so someone else could enjoy them.
