Unraveled Wednesday 04/08/20

Hello!

It was a stormy night in Eastern PA last night.  Several hours of rolling thunder, lightening and rain.  I was awake, of course, for most of it - lol.  My new sleeping (or lack thereof) patterns.  But, the rain sounded so nice and this morning everything is washed anew.

After finishing the Canary Blanket last Friday, I did not do that much knitting over the weekend.  I suppose I was giving my fingers and arms a bit of a breeak.  But I did pick the lavender sock back up the other day.  As of last night it looked like this:

The heel has been turned and I'm on the gusset decreases.  I hope to finish this sock by the end of the week and cast on the second one.

Work continues to be busy for me which is ok.  The only downside to that is I can't always get away from my computer long enough for a good walk (since I drive to a trail).  It was a gorgeous afternoon yesterday and a walk would have been very welcome.  Instead, I would check e-mail, respond, and then go out and shoot a round of arrows.  I ended up shooting 5 rounds - 90 arrows!!

And even managed to get a bulls eye!!  Woo-Hoo!  Of course, there were many arrows that fell short of othe target, and some that went over the top.  No guarantee on how I'll shoot!

On the reading front I've nothing to report.  Still can't sink into a book and enjoy it.  Hopefully that will change soon.

Meanwhile, I've got to run.  My boss is calling in 15 minutes to review a report I pulled together for him.  I need to pour another cup of coffee and pull up the report on the computer.

Linking with Kat as usual for Unraveled Wednesday.  Head on over to her blog to see what everyone is making and reading.

  1. Your sock looks great! Must feel great to have the canary blanket all done and dusted. I've been having a hard time settling into a book too. I think I might finally have sort of succeeded for now.

  2. Beautiful sock progress! (and I am in awe of your shooting prowess!!)

I hope your work day allows for a walk today! It smells so incredible outside! (though, we had hellishly wild storms here last night...those winds!)

  3. How nice to be able to take a break during your work day with arrows! We had some wild storms last night, too -- but earlier than yours. We had before-bed thunderstorms, so they didn't interrupt our sleeping. Hope you get both a good walk AND some better sleeping today/tonight. XO

  4. Hello, I love the lavender sock, looking good! I did not hear the thunder, I must have been in dreamland. Today is mostly cloudy, more rain coming. Have a good day!

  5. I was aggravated by the storms that woke me up last night; I sleep poorly enough without thunder booming at 3 am. Your sock is lovely and bravo for all those arrows and a bulls-eye! You are making the best of things even if you can't get out for a walk.

  6. What a pretty sock! It was stormy here last night also. It woke me up at 5 and I couldn't get back to sleep.

  7. My work is pretty busy too - I figured things would slow down, but nope. I should probably be thankful since they've already laid off two divisions at the company.

We've had a surprisingly sunny week, though it's grey right now. I got out in the garden and did a little clean-up yesterday.

  11. Bull's Eye! Hooray! I really like the yarn color you're using. I can't seen to get myself motivated to do any knitwork. Instead I sit and do a coloring app on my iPad. I think it's a concentration issue. My brain won't turn off. Here's hoping you have a wonderful day Vera!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  12. Well, I'M not going to mess with YOU now that you are armed and dangerous. :::wink:::

What is the pattern on your sock? It looks beautiful.

  13. Hey! A bullseye and one that is darn close. I'm impressed.

I'm also impressed by that intricately patterned sock. So many of you sock knitters are doing such lovely work, only to hide it under pantlegs. What a shame.

  14. Good job on the bullseye! I really like the color of your lavender sock. Say - I have a book recommendation- I'm almost done with "The Seven Sisters" by Lucinda Riley and it's really GOOD! Plus, it's a series so I don't have to wrack my brains about the next 6 reads.
    ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  15. Who hoo on the Bull's Eye. I doubt I could hit the broad side of a barn. The sock looks great. Crazy spring weather. I hope the next few nights are calmer so you can sleep. Everything is better with a good night's sleep.
