Hello!
How are you this morning? Again, I am groggy. Coffee has not yet kicked in, but I am hopeful that it will shortly.
Yesterday was another very quiet day work-wise. I did some stitching and reading and took a nice long nap after lunch. When I woke up, I hopped in the shower and then came back downstairs to check email. That was when I realized I had completely forgotten about my follow up eye doctor appointment. The appointment was in 10 minutes and I'm a good 20 minutes from the office. I called and, fortunately, they were good with me coming in a little late. A good visit - quick the way I like it. She checked my pressure and told me the results to my field vision test the week before were good. No need to go back for 6 months when I will have a full exam.
Meanwhile, it is Tiny Needle Tuesday, or TNT as I like to call it. Progress has been made on both pieces. First up is the Adam & Eve sampler (still no evidence whatsoever of Adam and/or Eve). One more alphabet completed...several more to go.
Those of you with finer vision than mine will see that things are a little off. The U, V, W, X, Y and Z in the last row are lower by two threads than they should be. I discovered that while stitching the W and decided to let it go. I'm fine with the way it looks and it being a little off is just a good reflection on me. LOL
A Visiting Bird has gained a flower!
Slowly but surely this piece is coming together. There is another flower on the left, some more leaves and the outline on the right for the basket or vase or whatever.
I've no real plans for today. Hopefully the usual (knitting, stitching, reading). It is supposed to be a little milder today (before the cold comes back tomorrow), so Fletch is grilling steaks for dinner. There are a few domestic chores I can do if I want, some bills that need to be paid and time will tell whether work will rear its ugly head or not!
Cheers to Tuesday folks - hope yours is a good one. Enjoy!
Glad you could fit in a nap and your eye appt.! The alphabets look lovely and I'm sure Adam & Eve will show up soon. The bird looks happy to see the new flower. Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to make it to your appointment! I think you should take your tiny stitching to your next appointment -- because if you can see well enough to make those tiny stitches, you should get Extra Credit on your eye exams! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad everything worked out with your eye appointment and that you got a good report! I'm jealous that you have warmer temps today -- I was up at 5:45 to shovel out! Your stitching is looking lovely as usual, and I have to tell you that I didn't notice those few letters being off until you mentioned it and I looked closely, so I'm sure the piece will look fine.
ReplyDeleteLots of stitching! I can barely see the error on the alphabet sampler, so it is tiny indeed.
ReplyDeleteWe could not grill anything since ours is piled high with snow from shovelling. It will be June until we see it again!
MMmmm bbq steak for dinner. Come spring, I'm bringing my bbq up onto the sun porch so I can bbq in the winter. Right now it's buried in snow, lol. We got about 3-4 inches yesterday. It's very pretty but the temp dropped again so its downright chilly!
ReplyDeleteI especially love that little bird and the flower.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is progressing nicely. I like both pieces. Glad your doctor’s office was flexible and that you got a good report. I’m back to yearly exams.
ReplyDeleteThat's some great progress! I've been so empowered with my stitching lately leaving things that would usually bother me or even completely changing things from the original pattern. I'm not sure what is going on in my brain but it's working for me.
ReplyDeleteI like how the alphabet looks. At first I didn't notice the change in distance but how pretty it looks.
ReplyDeleteThe flower looks great too. The bird looks quite interesting.
Glad the doctors office was accomodating. I've found that usually if you call them in time they will work with you.
Enjoy your steak!
It's feel like -6F outside right now so no grilling for us!
Blessings,
Betsy
Beautiful work! I never would have noticed "two rows off" had you not said so. Besides, that makes it uniquely yours!
ReplyDeleteA nap... what a luxury! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your stitching... even if it is a bit off (which my old eyes would never in a million years notice... looks perfect to me!)
I hoped you savored your slower day! The stitching is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteglad your eye appt went well, I have mine on Friday, should be interesting - hoping for new glasses.
ReplyDeleteI too am glad you eye appointment went well. The stitching looks great. I'd never have noticed the difference in the last few letters. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bird. Good news about your eye and glad to hear there are others that forget appointments!
