Good Morning!
It's snowing here. We don't have a lot, but someone has already been out and is enjoying making tracks.
There was no hesitation on Mabel's part - she quickly went out when I opened the door and then gingerly stepped on the snow. I think she likes it!
She is back in now, but making a bit of noise meowing. She probably wants to go back out.
I did walk again yesterday on the trail by the canal. Once again, not many people out and about. No heron sightings, but there were lots of geese and ducks on the water.
Colin was over last night and it was so good to see him again. I realized that we will not see Talbot and Marcel again until we head down to TX! We will see Colin again and Mailing on Sunday for dinner at Mailing's parents home. The movers are supposed to come today and tomorrow. Not sure what will happen with the snow. Colin's car will be picked up next Tuesday to be shipped down and they all fly down on Wednesday.
Today's plans include two conference calls (yuck) - 10 and 11. Other than that, I plan to finish Holiday Sock #1 (I'm up to the toe decreases) and cast on #2. Maybe some stitching, and finish "Matrix." Probably I should do some housework, but that is low, low, low down on the priority list - LOL. Not sure about a walk. I enjoy walking in the snow, but it will depend on whether the roads are clear or not. And, we are making home-made pizza for dinner.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
How sweet that Mabel enjoys frolicking in the snow! Our neighbors got a Golden Retriever puppy a few years ago, and last night we were enjoying watching her play outside. I'll be trudging through it later this morning on my walk and then hurrying back home to thaw. Pizza is for dinner tonight for us as well!
ReplyDeleteMabel is a real snow cat! We've got about four inches here. Just enough to make things a bit difficult, but hopefully not too much to shovel. I'm having my tea and procrastinating but then I need to get out there. Enjoy your pizza tonight and dinner with C&M!
ReplyDeleteI am meal planning today and now I am going to add pizza night back into the mix. Enjoy your snow.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a cat who likes the snow . . . but my dogs LOVE it! They get very frisky when the snow piles up -- even Jenny (at nearly 15) gets excited about it. Enjoy your time with Colin and Mailing this weekend, Vera. I know it's bittersweet . . . I'll be thinking of you! XO
ReplyDeleteWell go Mabel! (she is one up on Sherman he HATES the snow! lol)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with Colin and Mailing this weekend... may the days go slowly! XO
Catching up! I enjoy walking in the snow as long as it isn't slippery underneath... I was feeling muscles tense as I walked from my car to the door at work today because I was walking "funny," hoping to avoid a slip. I know how much you'll miss the kids, but at least they're still in the same country!! ;)
ReplyDeleteAll nice stuff but your son moving so far away is a tough one. I will cry with you cuz I understand.
ReplyDeleteFrom that angle, Mabel looks like Relic when he first started coming around (ie skinny! Lol - now he's a tub!)
ReplyDeleteHe used to love going out in the snow, but now he'd rather just sleep in the house. I think it's because at the townhouse, he had other houses he'd visit. With the catio, there's no visiting anyone anymore!
I've got the door open a crack and the inside kitties are running in and out to get out of the cold wind and snow. This bit is just adding insult to injury. We clean up one mess and now we have another. At least this one is soft and powdery. I don't mind a sweepable event but that wind is just awful.
ReplyDeletewe have a few inches and it's nice to look at :) Snow makes me very happy!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever known a cat who likes snow. How fun to have Mabel enjoying it. Zoey still isn't sure what to think about it.
ReplyDeleteI know how difficult this move is for you. I miss my boys something terrible. Jamie is in Montana and we rarely ever see him. We actually see Alex more and he's on the other side of the world! Wishing you a calm weekend, enjoying every single moment of your time with your kids. Big hugs for you Mama.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
The pattern arrived yesterday--thank you! I'm surprised Mabel likes the snow but maybe she doesn't realize her little paws get damp?
ReplyDeleteWe have an interesting bird dive, print in our patio snow. It happened once a year ago by a bigger bird, I' want to show it on my next post. Sweet Mabe1!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the time with Colin and Mailing. I am holding a good thought for you. I well remember the days before my daughter and family moved out of Lincoln and across the country. As Kym says, they are bittersweet. My advice is set a date (even if it is in your own mind) for your first visit. Knowing that was coming up was helpful for me.
ReplyDeleteMy big fat orange tabby loves to bolt out the front door and onto a snowy porch. And I'm always astounded.
ReplyDeleteC & M's move came on quickly (as if I need to tell you)! Jane's advice is spot on. It's always helpful to have something to look forward to.
Hello! I'm glad you were able to celebrate the holiday despite all those Covid tests!
ReplyDeleteSo, Colin and Mailing are moving! That must be so hard for you. I know you want the best for them, but it's hard to be far away from your kids. I can speak from experience.
