Hello Everyone,
How are you this Monday morning? Who else is finding it hard to believe that we are at the end of January? Once again, time is zipping by at a rapid pace.
We had a delightful weekend. We were at Colin & Mailing's on Saturday and Iris is growing so fast! She is enjoying holding up her head...or banging it against you when you hold her. LOL. She is loving her walks outside - she pretty much falls asleep immediately. A girl after my own heart.
Talbot is doing well too. He has taken Iris' appearance at the house in stride with no issues. Saturday was a sunny day and he was lounging on the ottoman most of the time we were there.
He's a furry one!
Mailing is usually the baker, but Colin has started trying his hand at sourdough and he gave us a boule to take home!
It always amuses me how many things I disliked as a kid and now I love: turnips, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, cooked cauliflower (I always loved it raw), etc. This sandwich is one of those things.
We are a little late to the party, but we are now hooked on the show Shrinking. I'm looking forward to getting into Slow Horses too. Amazing - I am actually enjoying TV! LOL
Time to pour another cup of coffee and sort the laundry. Hope your Monday is off to a good start!
I love those early baby stages, what fun. And your bread looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteTalbot is so furry and Colin's bread looks perfect! I used to love deviled ham as a kid and it would be wonderful on sourdough. I almost bought some a little while ago but looked at the fat and sodium and decided against it. It might have to go back on the list again!
ReplyDeleteTalbot is so handsome. That bread makes me want to throw a loaf of something in the bread maker!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful to visit the grand? It adds a whole new Joy to life.
ReplyDeleteAsparagus in winter--what a treat.
That bread looks perfect! And I can just imagine how wonderful it is to spend time with Iris.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you have many opportunities to snuggle Iris - a true blessing.
ReplyDeleteThat bread looks fabulous! I really want to learn to bake sourdough (like just about everyone else, I tried it during the early days of the pandemic but didn't have success). I am glad to hear that Talbot has adapted well to having a sister, and it sounds like you've adapted to being a grandma even more easily!
ReplyDeleteWow that bread looks delicious! I know that banging motion from various friend babies!
ReplyDeleteWhat delicious looking bread. It's wonderful that Iris enjoys being outdoors. Enjoy the feeling of that little girl curled up against your chest. In some ways, this month has felt so long and in others too short.
ReplyDeleteThat bread looks heavenly.
ReplyDeleteI loved Slow Horses. Give Gary Oldman all the prizes.
Mandy and Piper have been experimentling with sourdough bread and it's SO good. Happily they share often too. Your sandwich looks wonderful. I'm so glad you get to spend time often with Iris. There is just nothing like being a Grandma.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
That bread looks amazing! (and I love Slow Horses!) Also... I was never a fan of "leftover chicken sandwiches" as a kid. You know the ones, I am sure... pillowy white bread, a slathering of mayo, a leaf or two of lettuce, and as many pieces of chicken as you can cram on the bread. I had a sandwich yesterday with leftovers and it was AMAZING! Kindergarten Kat would have turned her nose up at this fare... silly girl.
ReplyDeleteAlways had the bread machine going when mom was here. But never did a sour dough, maybe get a starter going and see how it comes out.
