Good Morning!
My coffee tastes particularly good this morning - my phone tells me that it is zero degrees outside. Yikes! I did not go outside at all yesterday. Fletch did clean off the cars. One of the cars has doors that are frozen shut and will not open...luckily the other one has doors that open. Fletch has an appointment this morning, so he has to go out. I will wait and do grocery shopping later in the day. The next few days are not forecast to be any warmer, so no real point in waiting.
Time for a Tiny Needle Tuesday update. Some stitching was accomplished!
The lady's rather big dress is finally completely stitched! Next will be a walkway to the house and then the yard. Lots of space will be filled in completely. The tree on the right still needs leaves and then there is the big moon to stitch in the upper right...and some blackbirds. I am not going to figure out how many stitches are in this piece - that would just make me nuts!!
Fletch has been keeping a glass of water on the counter by the sink - easier to take a sip from that than opening a water bottle all the time. However...this is what I saw yesterday:
Mabel was a little thirsty I guess. I washed that glass and put out a fresh one for Fletch and once again Mabel helped herself. This is the first I've ever seen her drinking from a glass.
Time for me to get a second cup of coffee and start moving around. Have a good Tuesday!
Mabel appreciates your kindness. My cats don't drink out of water glasses anymore; usually, they just rub their chins on the rims. Often, this results in the glass being knocked over, so it's unwise to leave a glass unattended.
ReplyDeleteI really like that stitching project. The style is so attractive, as are the colours.
I wonder how that lady fits her dress through the door? Your sampler is lovely even if it has 800 gazillion stitches. I always look forward to seeing it. Mabel is so talented. I hope she doesn't mew for ice in the summer. I have to walk over to the borough office to pay taxes and the water bill but I'm waiting until it gets to at least 5 degrees before I go. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThat stitching is just fantastic, Vera. I love her dress! But Mabel! You rascal you! So maybe Fletch needs a glass on the other side of the sink... unless he is keen to share with her! LOL Happy Tuesday... our temp has finally climbed out of the negative numbers! It is a whopping 1 degree out! LOL
ReplyDeleteI always keep a glass of water out to remind myself to drink. I'll have to keep a close eye on who's sharing it with me...lol.
ReplyDeleteI had to dig out my old cloth face masks so I could take Pup out. I can't breathe in this cold. The masks do really work well.
Love your stitchery piece. It's coming along great and the color of the ladies dress is lovely.
ReplyDeleteDennis's Mom's cat used to only drink from the bathroom sink faucet. She had to leave it running all of the time or Maple would do that annoying loud cat yell until she turned it on again. I hate to think how much water was wasted. We tried to get her one of those cat fountains, but she wouldn't use it! Mabel is hilarious. She knows that you're taking good care of her needs by leaving her very own glass of water out. :-)
Stay warm!
Blessings,
Betsy
Dave put a bottle of gasline anti-freeze in my Jeep yesterday. We're not quite as cold as you guys are, but it's close.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching looks great!
Now that Mabel had drunk from a glass - she'll never go back! Lol. Burton LOVES to drink from glasses and will stalk me if he sees me fill up a glass from the fridge. I keep a special plastic glass on the bathroom counter full of water for him.
That dress is something else! I assume it's just a matter of perspective making it seem half the size of the house.
ReplyDeleteMy husband shoveled yesterday and had to come back in shortly after starting for mittens because his gloves weren't keeping his hands warm enough. He also went for a run this morning, which I thought was nuts, but at least I know he was appropriately clothed. I'm not planning on leaving the house until Thursday!
Mabel is so funny! Scout will sneak a drink out of a coffee cup if we leave one within her reach!!!
