Good Morning,
Advice from a cat: Sometimes the only thing to do is sprawl out on the pavement!
As I've mentioned, Mabel loves to be around us when we are sitting on the patio and she will usually plop down where either my feet or Fletcher's will be. Yesterday I had gotten up to walk out to the apple tree - I pinched off the flower on a coleus, and then Mabel wandered out. I showed her (again) the catnip plant and rubbed the leaves on my hands and her face. Finally she got interested and started chewing on the plant. Funny, she does not seem interested in it unless I show it to her and rub the leaves.
At one point a beautiful, young deer joined us in the yard. He/she did not seem all that afraid - of either us or Mabel and Mabel, after staring intently at the deer, went back to munching on the catnip. The deer wandered off after a bit.
I have two conference calls this morning - one at 8:30 and one at 11. They should both go fairly quickly. And I remembered yesterday that Monday is a holiday for me - Juneteenth! Woo-Hoo, a long weekend with plenty of time to stitch and knit and read. I have plans to meet Dee tomorrow which will be nice. Our weather continues it's roller coaster ride. Yesterday was fairly pleasant. Today will be warmer but then Saturday the high is only forecast for the 60's.
Whatever your plans, I hope you have a lovely weekend - have some fun!
I hope you have a lovely long weekend, Vera! XO
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your well-deserved long weekend, and take your relaxation cues from Mabel!
ReplyDeleteIf reincarnation is a thing, I really want to come back as a cat or a dog in my next life so I can stretch out and sleep most of the day! I hope you enjoy your long weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh, that Mabel! I have Monday off, too. Enjoy the long weekend!
ReplyDeleteMabel and her charming spots make good photography anytime.
ReplyDeleteWe were in the uncomfortable 90s with high humidity the past two days, and tomorrow's forecast is the same as yours. So strange! Today is a transitional day of sorts.
Enjoy your long weekend! I wish Rick's office observed, but they do not. Alas! Get in an extra stretch and relax/nap for him.
Aah, Mabel looks so comfy sprawled out like that. We have lots of deer around here but I can't imagine one staying if we were in the yard with it. They are such beautiful creatures.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be hot, hot for the foreseeable future. I think I'll be inside the house most of the weekend.
Blessings,
Betsy
Have a fabulous weekend!
ReplyDeleteMabel is so cute!
cats are the best! Frodo and Holly have their seasonal behaviors. Holly now sleeps on the hamper in our bedroom instead of the chair (cooler??) and Frodo likes to be less outside and more inside as he ages.
ReplyDeleteThat's what my kitties look like today with this heat wave we are having. They glue themselves to the pavement either to soak up the heat or cool off. I can't decide which they are doing because it's darn hot on the pavement.
ReplyDeleteMabel will learn about the magic of catnip soon, I bet!
ReplyDeleteThanks! We have a big get-together tomorrow to celebrate Father's Day and Bill's birthday!
ReplyDeleteThe anonymous post is from me and I don't know why it posted that way!
