Tiny Needle Tuesday October 26, 2021

 Good Morning!

How's your week going so far?  Gosh it took me forever to wake up yesterday and then it was time to go to bed again - LOL.  Some days are like that.  I feel a bit more awake today which is good as I've got a ton of work to do.

I have no stitching to show you this week.  That's right, I have not even put in one little cross stitch since I last showed you the Pomegranate Birds piece last Tuesday.  Between Mabel (she's a charmer for sure) and work I've been a bit swamped.  Speaking of Mabel, I made an appointment with our vet to take her in on Thursday for a "look over."  I'm curious to learn what she weighs (so light!!).

My office visit was quite short yesterday (thankfully) - just barely 2 hours.  Bill and I never got around to my review - believe that will occur next week.  I did get to the eye glasses place yesterday and ordered 2 pairs of glasses - one regular and one sunglasses.  Gosh those are pricey things!!

Early afternoon Fletch and I were sitting on the patio and I spotted some blossoms...on our apple tree...weird!

There must be at least half a dozen or so clumps like this.  Once, several years ago it had a few blossoms in October and the tree has been going downhill ever since (see all the lichen on the branch?).  I do hope it will be ok.

Well, nothing more to report and as I mentioned, I've got a ton of work to do, so I may as well get started.  First I'll look at our rain gauge since it rained heavily ALL night.  Hope your week is going well.

  1. I looked at my neighbor's rain gauge when I went outside this morning, and it looked like 2.5", and it's supposed to rain another inch or more today. I hope the cellar isn't flooding in NJ. It's funny to think about you not getting a chance to stitch at all last week, but Mabel is a good reason!

  2. It has been raining here for two days! So gloomy. And so wet. But there are sunshine "icons" in my forecast today, so maybe some of the rain will dry up? It's weird that your apple tree is blooming now . . . and I'm sure that's not a good sign for the health of the tree. I have daffodils pushing up in my garden. These are confusing times! I hope you get some stitching in this week. Going too long between stitches isn't good for our mental health. . . XO

  3. It was 80 degrees here yesterday so all the plants and animals are mixed up.

  4. Oh gosh. I hear you on weird blooming things...my forsythia bushes are blooming. What? Yes, it's true. I am not sure why or how, but it is concerning.

  5. Things seem to be blooming earlier every year -- we've had spring flowers start to pop up in December for the past couple of years -- so I'm surprised but not shocked to see apple blossoms. Those people who think climate change and global warming aren't real only need to look at things like this!

  6. Nature is so confused. I've seen dandelions on my walk, and we were swarmed by robins at the lake on Saturday--9 of them in the big maple tree. Leaves are just now starting to turn here in NEO, but we can't appreciate them in all the wind, rain, and gloom.

I'm glad you're getting glasses. It's been a long time!

  8. I understand entirely how new kittens and puppies keep you so busy. I don't seem to get much done with our little one around. But she's so sweet and cute, she's worth it all.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  9. Sudden warm days after a cold spell can sometimes make plants think it's spring. I've got grape hyacinths coming up everywhere right now (no blooms)

  10. Can't wait to see your new glasses. Yes . . . VERY pricey.

Our big azalea is FULL of buds. What is up with THAT???? LOL I guess if we don't have a frost, we'll have a some pretty (if odd) fall color in our yard soon.

  12. Glasses are pricey. I have a slight chip in the blue finish on my frames but am just ignoring it as I don't want to pay for new ones. Apple blossoms are a little strange but then we live in strange times.
