Tiny Needle Tuesday - Again With No Stitching 7/14/26

 Hello Friends,

Here we are at yet another Tuesday and I have NO tiny needle projects to share.  I still cannot settle on a pattern or fabric.  Now I'm leaning towards a Quaker-like piece from A Mon Ami Pierre (no longer in business) that I found in my stash.  I even picked out a silk thread to try (aqua marine) as the piece will be done as a monochrome.  But, I haven't had the energy or time or will to look at fabric and put needle and thread to it.  Hopefully soon, but I guess for now I just need a break.

Now, of course, the heat is building and we are in for a few days of scorching heat which might mean no stitching.  Time will tell.  Fortunately, by the time dinner is over it has been pleasant sitting on the patio to read (that may not be the case today, tomorrow or Thursday though).  What we need is a good, strong thunderstorm to clear things out!

What I do have to share with you though is a photo of the trio who showed up in our yard last night.  Triplet fawns!!

Sweet things!  Do you see the Glads?  (Picnic benches on top of the table so the mower guys could do a thorough job.  Also the hose coiled up and hanging on the fence rather than laying in the yard for the same reason.)

Deer have been coming down into the yard to feast on apples that are starting to drop from the tree.  I've seen both bucks and does.  But these are the first fawns I've seen this year.

Tiny Needle Tuesday October 26, 2021

 Good Morning!

How's your week going so far?  Gosh it took me forever to wake up yesterday and then it was time to go to bed again - LOL.  Some days are like that.  I feel a bit more awake today which is good as I've got a ton of work to do.

I have no stitching to show you this week.  That's right, I have not even put in one little cross stitch since I last showed you the Pomegranate Birds piece last Tuesday.  Between Mabel (she's a charmer for sure) and work I've been a bit swamped.  Speaking of Mabel, I made an appointment with our vet to take her in on Thursday for a "look over."  I'm curious to learn what she weighs (so light!!).

My office visit was quite short yesterday (thankfully) - just barely 2 hours.  Bill and I never got around to my review - believe that will occur next week.  I did get to the eye glasses place yesterday and ordered 2 pairs of glasses - one regular and one sunglasses.  Gosh those are pricey things!!

Early afternoon Fletch and I were sitting on the patio and I spotted some blossoms...on our apple tree...weird!

There must be at least half a dozen or so clumps like this.  Once, several years ago it had a few blossoms in October and the tree has been going downhill ever since (see all the lichen on the branch?).  I do hope it will be ok.

Well, nothing more to report and as I mentioned, I've got a ton of work to do, so I may as well get started.  First I'll look at our rain gauge since it rained heavily ALL night.  Hope your week is going well.

A Mid-Week Post

Mid-Week!  And August!! 

 

Not much to show today as not much knitting and no stitching has taken place this week.  I did manage to start another square on the blanket, but I only got about 8 rows done yesterday.

 

So, how about some lovely vegetation photos?  Here are my eggplants!  I have two plants in this small, old cast iron kettle and they are thriving.  I’m excited.  Can’t wait to use some of these on pizza (I grill or broil sliced eggplant with EVOO and S&P and then put on pizza – heavenly.

 

 

And here is my fig tree, or as I call it, Figgy.  I love figs.  A few years back Fletch gave me a fig tree at Christmas.  Our climate here isn’t warm enough to keep a fig tree outside year round (unless we wrapped it, etc. which I am not going to do).  We thought this one would be perfect as it was supposed to start producing fruit once it got to be a foot high.  3 or so years later and definitely more than a foot high, but no fruitL  And, it is getting big/heavy to move outside in the Spring and back inside once the temps cool.  But, it is a pretty plant.

 

 

That’s about it for me.  It has been a crazy morning at work, and our internet was down until just a few minutes ago.  I’d best get cracking as I’ve got things to do.  Hope everyone is having a good week.
