Good Morning!
It is early and dark, but I woke at 2 a.m. and never got back to sleep. I'm planning to nap today. But first I'm going to my office - things to print in color, things to scan, mail to check, etc. Hopefully not a long visit!
The past week gave me an opportunity to do a bit more stitching on the Quaker Autumn sampler. It is coming along. Still lots to stitch, but progress is being made and that's encouraging. Overall it looks like this now:
And here's a close up of what I stitched in the past week: a tree, a deer, a little bird and two more letters - P and K:
It's kind of a wrinkled mess thanks to stitching in hand, but there is no real point in ironing it now...it will only get balled up in my hands again! I'm not sure what motif I will stitch next. I should get back to the border and do some more of that...and I may...or I may continue stitching stuff on the left hand side. I'll see what strikes my fancy the next time I pick up my needle.
Hope everyone is having a good week!
I like that deer taking a little nibble from the tree!
ReplyDeleteThat deer looks just like the ones that I stitched on my birth record sampler for the new Grand. It had me put two strands of a different color together for shading but I like how your designer did yours better. I almost ripped them both out but came to my senses before I did.
ReplyDeleteI am liking this stitching! It looks wonderful! (must have been something in the air last night... I too struggled to sleep! Gah! Here is to a good nights sleep for both of us!)
ReplyDeleteI like the deer also! You're the boss of your stitching, so you get to choose whatever comes next. (Hope you get a good nap!)
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe deer and tree are pretty, your sampler is coming along. Take care, enjoy your day!
Such a charming sampler! I love seeing your progress. And I hope you have a long nap later . . . XO
ReplyDeleteThis is a great motif--the deer and the tree; very pleasing! You do good work!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this part of the sampler. The vignette is so charming.
ReplyDeleteThis sampler has so much depth to it; the images are almost three-dimensional. It's really beautiful and so interesting to the eye.
I love the colors in that sampler! And the whole deer/tree/bird area is just wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThat deer is very dear! Lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking great Vera. I think the deer is beautiful. I do most of my stitching in hand too but people keep telling me I should be using a frame of some sort for my cross stitch.
ReplyDeleteYou were waking up before I ever went to bed last night! It's usually midnight or later before I fall asleep.
Blessings,
Betsy
Each added motif makes this sampler even more beautiful.I can’t imagine stitching without a frame/hoop. I like a taut stitching area.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like the close-ups of the stitching. Love the deer and bird and tree. I don't stitch a lot but I do like using a hoop for the nice flat surface to work on. Don't work too hard! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

ReplyDeletei love the deer too!
this would match my house decorating :) Lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is so lovely. Amazing. Do you use any special lighting? I was just looking at some light thing that hangs around the neck for stitching.
