Tiny Needle Tuesday 4/1/25

Hello!

April 1st - no kidding!  How did that happen so fast?

We had a loud and long thunderstorm last night.  It sounded wonderful.  By the time I went up to bed the thunder had ceased, but the rain continued.  The sound of rain hitting the roof was the perfect lullaby for falling asleep.  This morning the sun is shining brightly and I need to wake up.  I stayed in bed longer than usual and was tempted to stay there till lunch!  Now I am slowly sipping coffee and attempting to wake up.

Time for a Tiny Needle update.  Last week found me able to squeeze in a little bit of stitching.  Not a lot, but some.

More green, more brown and a couple of petals were stitched in the orangey color.  I'm definitely not moving quickly on this one, but I am enjoying it.

Yesterday ended up being a pretty nice day and it got a little warm.  I decided to make a pasta primavera with shrimp for dinner.

I sautéed some broccoli, sugar snap peas, red peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and threw in Kalamata olives (why not?).  Then added the shrimp and once that was cooked added some white wine and tossed in the linguini I had cooked.  So easy and so good plus plenty of leftovers!

Still sunny out, but the winds have picked up to howling level!  I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday - enjoy!

  1. Your dinner looks pretty tasty! I’d welcome an all day drizzle. It’s been a unusually dry Winter

  2. Your pasta dish looks delicious. I would like a plateful please? :-) The wind is howling here today too, and pretty chilly, but at least there's no snow. It has been a really windy month of March, I hope April is better, although it's sure not starting that way.
I picked up a couple of 5 inch embroidery kits this morning at Hobby Lobby to make for the camper. I'm looking forward to getting started on them.
Today would have been my parents 81 wedding anniversary, we used to tease them about being married on April Fools Day, but since Dad was shipping off the next day in WWII, they didn't have much choice. It lasted closed to 50 years before Mom passed so I guess the day didn't matter much. :-)
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  4. Not an April Fool in sight here (yay!) Love seeing the weekly progress on your sampler and that yummy pasta. I'm going to be eating leftovers from the weekend for another day or two (finishing up just in time for another weekend!) - happy Tuesday!

  5. I do love leftovers. The stitching is so pretty and detailed. Falling asleep to the sound of falling rain is the best.

  6. Look at that beautiful dinner -- such great colors! I love falling asleep to the sound of rain, but lately we've had most of it during the day (so sometimes I just have to take a power nap!). I hope the sun we had today makes its way to you tomorrow!

  7. We had thunderstorms last night too but we never got the wind, thank goodness. Your kindness project must be a joy to pick up. It makes me smile every time I see it.

  8. that pasta dish looks delicious! any bit of stitching squeezed in is better than nothing at all. Yesterday I did not do anything creative because of being 'busy' I am hoping today is filled with creativity.
