Good Morning Friends,
I'm glad it is Friday! It's been a rough week for Iris with all her vaccinations on Monday. She's been mostly fretful and also very, very clingy to her father. Sweet to see, but hard for him to get a break! C&M have started her on some solid food - not really enough for nourishment, but it's one way to check for allergies. They are making her food themselves. So far she has had mashed banana mixed with breast milk, another night she had oatmeal, then steamed and mashed carrots. Not sure what she was trying last night.
Last night I knit the last few stitches on my latest dishcloth. The yarn isn't as nice as what I used earlier, and it is pretty splitty, but I think it turned out ok. A dishcloth doesn't need to be perfect anyway!
I'll take my needles and some different yarn to C&M's today when I wander over that way. Simple dishcloths are the easiest thing to work on when I'm helping out with Iris.
Despite a little chilly start to the day, it is supposed to be in the 70's today and then up to 80 on Saturday!! That will be welcome. I don't think Easter Sunday will be quite as warm, but as long as it is sunny, that will be good. We will be going over to C&M's for a noon time meal. I think Colin said he would make ham, pineapple stuffing, green beans and a lemon tart for dessert with homemade vanilla ice cream. YUM
Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
Glad to hear you're enjoying beautiful weather, too (we're supposed to hit 81 today!). I hope Iris is feeling more like herself now, and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter celebration!
ReplyDeleteI wish Daughter would start the little Grand on some solids. She says her doctor said not until 6 months but that big guy needs something more filling imho. I bet he would sleep better if he had a little something before bedtime. Lately he's been waking up at 4 for a feeding. Something he didn't used to do. We always started them on rice cereal at 3 months.
ReplyDeleteColin's meal sounds delicious, of course, and I hope Iris feels a little better next week. Some solid food sounds like it might be a good thing. I'll be over for a piece of the lemon tart and don't even need ice cream with mine!
ReplyDeleteDishcloths just need to be functional and if they are pretty, like yours, that is a bonus. Your Easter meal sounds like it will be delicious. I am making a brunch casserole and a spinach salad. I am making a small pan of lemon bars as a treat.
ReplyDeleteIt was so mild here overnight as well! We stayed in the 70's... yikes! AC in April was not on my list, but there you have it. Poor Iris, I hope that she is doing better this weekend! Colin's feast sounds delicious... and I am with Bonny... that lemon tart sounds amazing and I will take a slice as well! Happy Easter! XO
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter for you , too. I hope Iris can adjust soon--changes are hard! It has to be wonderful to know you can help out!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, Vera! We had beautiful weather here yesterday and got to enjoy our first cocktail hour of the season on our deck. It's sunny today but there's a chilly wind that may keep us inside for Easter apps, what a bummer. I hope the week ahead is easier for Iris and Colin and you, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! Dishcloths are a perfect "can't pay attention" project - I'm glad you have it AND hope you won't be knitting that way for much longer with little Iris (unless you want to). We've had low 80's here all weekend ... and it's been lovely. I'm not quite ready to turn on the A/C, so very grateful for the cooler mornings and the ceiling fans.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!! Dish cloths are very forgiving!! I love to knit them using up odds and ends of cotton.
