Unraveled Wednesday 10/21/20

 Good Morning!

Another night of good sleep!!  Not quite as straight through as the night before, but better than most nights have been.  I'm grateful.

And mild!  Yowzers!  It was in the low 70's when Fletch and I sat on the patio before dinner.  Weird.  But I will take it.

Fletch got our garlic planted yesterday.  Quite a bit more than last year, and we still have plenty left that we harvested.  Last night we had a salad with dinner and it was made up of greens (several kinds of lettuce, chard, spinach, bok choy) from the cold frame box and we even harvested some more cherry tomatoes.  A gift at this time of year.

My work day was a bit busier than I expected yesterday (ha!), so I never got out for a walk.  But I did get 3 loads of laundry done!  Today I need to feed the cats (C&M's cats) and pick up a couple of things at the grocery store.  We have a plumber coming at 10 ($$$).  I don't need to be home for that.  Tomorrow I need to head back into the office just for a short time in the morning.  By 1:30 I have to be at Colin & Mailing's to meet the "party rental" fools folks who FINALLY called to set up a time I could meet them.  All the farm tables, linens, plates, flatware, etc. are still in C&M's garage.  It will be good to have those things finally gone by the time C&M get home (Friday!!).

Now it's mid-week and Unraveled Wednesday.  Like my TNT post yesterday, not a whole lot of knitting has gone on.  I did manage to do a bit when Dee and I met up on Saturday and I put a few more rows in last night.

I think I have about 10 rows left on the foot and then will do the toe decreases and then the Kitchener closure.  I'm ready for these to be finished.  I'm not sure if they will be for me 😊 or someone else.  Last night I noticed a dropped stitch which I managed to fix, but I want to look at them all overall (both socks) and make sure they look nice enough to gift.  I've also made the feet fairly large (I wear a size 10 shoe), and most of my friends have smaller feet than me.  But...we will see.  The color is perfect for my friend Janet in Rhode Island (one of the sisters).

On the reading front, I gave up on "The Door."  It was due back at the library and I found myself reading it very slowly but not really retaining anything.  I've picked up "Olive, Again" where I left off and (even though the stories are all very bleak) I'm enjoying it.  Fletch's and my reading after dinner has been on hold for a bit due to needing to head over to Colin & Mailing's after dinner to feed the cats.  Usually I go and do the morning feeding and Fletch does the evening run.  Last night we went together though which was nice.  And tonight I think we are planning to have a fire in our fire pit.  Looking forward to that.

As usual, I'm linking up with Kat on this Unraveled Wednesday.  Be sure to check out her blog and the links to see what others are making and reading.

And a funny for you.  My friend Carol (who is not a knitter) sent this to me.  Happy Wednesday!

  3. Your days are certainly full right now, Vera! What a hassle to have to mess with the rental fools . . . but so nice that things will be cleared out for Colin and Maling by the time they arrive home again. And that knitting poster is PERFECT. XO

  4. Oh dear, I feel like I need that meme printed out poster size!

I think you should keep the socks, especially as they're made to fit your feet!

  5. That graphic at the end made me literally LOL. It's so true! Any time I bring home yarn, my husband says, "What's that going to be?" and I say, "I don't know. I just liked this yarn," and into the stash it goes.

  10. I had to turn the AC back on. Boooo.....it was almost 80 here yesterday with humidity in the 80's too. Ugh. Everyone has a headache and terrible allergies. I could use some of that midwest snow right about now.
I love that meme. That's just how I feel. I don't really want to knit anything just spend all day looking at yarn to buy and projects I know I will never make.

  11. I laughed out loud at that last photo! It's so true. :-)
You certainly keep busy and it makes me feel lazy. I'm still in my pj's trying to catch up on blogs. I have nowhere I have to go today so it's okay. More knitting on Piper's sweater today. I'm really enjoying it and knowing how much she loves and wears them makes my heart happy. This is the 4th one this month and then I'll be done for awhile.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
