Unraveled and Snowy Wednesday 03-07-18

Hello Everyone,


Here we are again on a snowy Wednesday.  My office is closed and I have been having a cozy day at home.  I knit a little, de-cluttered a tiny bit, did some yoga and meditation, worked on some financial spreadsheets, knit a little more, took a nap, drank/am drinking hot tea.  Let me tell you, I could do this Every.Single.Day!


First up, the red sock with the lateral braids:

This shot makes it look almost purple, but it is really red.  Not fire engine red...there's some brown in there...more like a very deep merlot color.  These are not as fancy as I thought I'd make for February, but hey!  It's now March.  Just a plain vanilla sock with two lateral braids (15 rows of 2x2 ribbing, then 5 knit rows, 1 lateral braid, 10 knit rows, the 2nd lateral braid, and then just plain knitting all the way).  I knit some after this picture was taken and I think I'll do about 10 more rows then start the heel flap.


On the reading front, I am in the midst of Glass Houses by Louise Penny (latest in the Inspector Gamache) series.  So good.  I'm taking my time with this book and savoring it.  Her stories are so well crafted and it is easy to race through them in a night or two.  Instead I'm reading a bit here and there - a chapter (or 3) at a time, then putting it down. 


In my cup is green tea to which I have added ginger, turmeric and honey.  Tasty and warming on this chilly day.


The snow is still falling...it is supposed to stop by 6 p.m. or so...though winter storm warnings are in force till 3 a.m.  Who knows?  I could have another snow day tomorrow...or a delayed arrival...I'll just play it by ear.


I mentioned that over the weekend I cleaned out some patterns and I weaned a few more from the group this morning.  I had six (yes - 6!!!) binders full of patterns.  I am down to 4.  I have a few hard copies of patterns that I bought at various stores, some that I tore out of magazines, and I have a lot of lace patterns printed out.  Not sure I could find those again, so I may keep.  I need to really look at what I'm keeping and get rid of the ones in my Ravelry library.  And, of course, I need to look closely to make sure I really will (or think I will) knit something.  If not...out it goes.


But for now, I think I will finish my tea and finish knitting the leg of my sock.  Being stuck inside is not a bad thing today.
