Unraveled Wednesday 02-07-18

Good Morning!

It is grey here in Eastern PA and I had sleet and snow on my drive in this morning.   The roads were not bad, but it is continuing to come down...hopefully it will all change to rain before I leave.

What a treat it was to have Monday off!  I never left the house until 6 p.m. when I drove to yoga.  I had good food, a lovely nap and I worked on Sigla.  I started this sweater a year ago and then put it aside when the weather turned warm.  Here is where I was just before hiding it in a project bag:

I did add the fourth color (blue) before quitting.  On Monday I actually tried it on to be sure it would fit over my head - lol.  and it does!  I knit a number of rows down to where I have to put some stitches on holders (or yarn) for the sleeves.  Of course, I failed to take a picture....but this is such a fun knit and quick!  The Lettlopi yarn is easy to work with and it did not feel too scratchy/itchy when I tried it on.  I am making a larger than normal size so that I can comfortably wear a turtleneck or long sleeve shirt under it and I want it to be fairly loose.

On the reading front I am in the midst of The Woman Who Smashed Codes and it is very, very good.  I am really enjoying this.  I also started reading Eleanor Oliphant (thanks Dee!) and it is also very good.  After a wait of too many months, my turn for Glass Houses - the latest Inspector Gamache novel from Louise Penny - finally came up on Overdrive.

Too many books and not enough time and at the same time I want to knit EVERYTHING!!!

Meanwhile, I need to get to work - it's busy again and I've got a ton to do.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

  1. Don't you hate how Work cuts into your Free Time? I'm finally ready to start a new project. I need something easy and quick. The last one almost did me in--too long and worky.

  2. Having an unexpected day off must have been wonderful. I'm glad you were able to knit on your sweater and relax a bit, too.

  7. Your colors are GREAT! I'm also reading Eleanor Oliphant -- just love it. (And I'm on the extremely long waiting list for the Code Smashing. It's gonna be awhile.) And I, too, want to knit All The Things!

  10. We had a bit of a snow day here. Well it's not really a snow day for me, since I work from home. But Dave stayed home which is REALLY unusual. He's one of those "I'll drive in anything!!!" types.

We're supposed to get another dumping on Friday. But I found out today I won a trip to Mexico (through work) in March... I'm so excited!

  12. Wouldn't it be cool if you could read one book with each eye? It's probably be a bit difficult to track the plots though. I've got knitting fever, too. Love your current project.
