Good Morning!
Last night did turn out lovely. Fletch grilled burgers which were delicious. Colin had picked up rolls and we had sautéed mushrooms, avocado, onion slices and tomato slices to go with them. Yum. And, it was mild and dry (initially), so a fire in the pit was started:
We were out there for about 2 hours before the rain came and drove us inside. It was so nice to sit out comfortably!
No knitting last night - once Colin left to go home I jumped in the shower since my hair and clothes reeked of wood smoke. I like the smell, but not on my hair - lol.
And almost 60 this morning...with a winter storm warning for Saturday night...2-4" expected. Warming up into the 50's Sunday and then the 70's on Tuesday and Wednesday. Our crazy, roller-coaster weather seems to be continuing.
We don't have a lot of plans for the weekend. We have an appointment Saturday morning with our tax accountant. Will be good to get that out of the way. We will probably grocery shop that afternoon and then just hunker down for the remainder of the weekend (hopefully with lots of knitting). Monday is President's Day, but sadly not a holiday for moi.
Whatever you have planned, I hope your weekend is fun!
A storm will mean good knitting weather! Your campfire sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteOur grill still has a bit of an icy drift around it, despite warmer temps the past couple days. Rollercoastering here, too, with a 20+ degree drop today. But no snow--looks like you get it this time!
ReplyDeleteWe've got 5-7" predicted, but since the snow will be followed by warm temps. again, I hope maybe you can have a grill/fire pit evening again next week! I also hope the grocery store isn't packed Sat. afternoon. My errands today include a stop by the liquor store before it gets too crowded. :-) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWHAT? 70's? I need to check the Weather Channel!!
ReplyDeleteWent out to shovel a couple of inches in -1°F this morning. Needless to say, it will not be 60° here today.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I lOVE your Thursday night family gathering shots. LOVE the fire shot. We need to get out side. It is cold here, flurries expected. I can sense Fireman and I both are getting cabin fever. SO thankful for Olympics, they help
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather! Up and down; up and down! Our grill is still covered with snow -- so I'm envious of your February cook out. Sounds like a great night!
ReplyDeleteXO
wasn't yesterday the best? I took the toddler for a walk and inhaled that fresh air! love that you were campfire side and grilling :)
ReplyDeleteSorry you don't get a three day weekend...but lucky you, an early bird cookout...meal sounded delish! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteCheers~
It's been ages since we have used out outdoor stove. We are expecting rain and more rain. I am so sick of rain.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nuts? They are saying 4 to 7 inches of snow for us overnight. And we've been warm too. It's sunny right now. Sigh. Just crazy.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd love to have a good campfire!
ReplyDeleteFinally catching up on all that I missed last week. LOVE the progress on your Sigla (it's probably finished by now :-) and hope you're surviving the snow. Guessing it's harder to handle now that you've had a few days of Spring Tease. The cherry trees are blooming and daffodils are popping up all over. I hope this isn't just a Tease for us!
