Hello!
Welcome to the end of February!! And look what was happening in my driveway bed when I got home yesterday:
The first Crocus blooms! In less than two weeks the clocks will move forward and we'll have more light at the end of the day (let's not talk about how it will be dark again in the morning).
Sigla is still drying. I checked it yesterday and flipped it over...I'm betting it will be dry by the time I get home tonight. Rain is expected tomorrow, but I don't think it will be chilly enough to don Sigla. That will have to wait. I will, however, try it on again to see how it looks after blocking.
Meanwhile, I did cast on for a new pair of socks yesterday at lunch:
That's 15 rows of ribbing, so the cuff is finished. This morning I was fooling around and attempted to do a Vikkel Braid but I had "issues" with it. I should practice on a swatch before I attempt that, but I think it will look pretty just under the ribbing. I'm not sure what these socks are going to be. Maybe just plain vanilla with the Vikkel Braid or I may give up on the braid for now and comb through my library to find a pattern. The yarn is the Malabrigo that I wound by hand after it snagged miserably on my swift. It's very pretty and soft.
On the reading front I'm just about through This Book and for me it's been a bit off a slog. I don't think the writing is all that great. On the other hand, it's probably the perfect read for me right now - no concentration needed. I'll be glad when it's finished. I would give it 2.5 stars...maybe 3...just a bit too predictable for me.
Fletch is retired, but still occasionally does a bit of work for some favorite clients. Yesterday he worked and came home with fresh bagels, a lemon cake and popcorn shrimp! Apparently the couple had their grandchildren over on the weekend and this food was left over. David told his wife to "get that stuff out of the house - I don't need to eat it!" Guess who's going to eat it now? Time for me to head into the kitchen and toast a bagel for breakfast.
We are halfway through the work week and tomorrow is the 1st of March - Enjoy!!

Tuesday Silliness
Hello All,
I listen to WRTI the classical and jazz station out of Temple University. Occasionally I get e-mails that they have posted on Facebook (which I rarely go to...but...) and this morning's post cracked me up:
Wonder if they knew it would appeal to a knitter?
I did go to yoga last night - it was a great class and only 4 of us were there - almost like a private lesson! I got home at 9 p.m., so no knitting was cast on. But, it's a pretty relaxed day at work and I brought yarn and needles with me, so hoping to cast on for my red socks (before February says goodbye).
Hope your week is going well.

Not One, But Two Finishes!!
Hello My Friends,
I hope you all had wonderful weekends. Ours was damp and in the 40's, but it was a good weekend!
First up, I left work at 2:30 on Friday - that's a very good thing. When I got home I changed and did a yoga workout and then hopped in the shower. By the time I was out, it was time to make pizza for dinner. So good - fresh tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts, black olives, bacon (yay!!), mushrooms, scallions and a little bit of cheese. Delicious.
After dinner I got to work on the misbehaving mitt and managed to finish it. So, (finally) a completed pair:
I love the variegated yarn (Koi Pond from KnitPicks).
Saturday I ran a couple of errands early and then met up with Dee at Backyard Beans for some therapeutic girl time - sipping tea and knitting. It was lovely. I worked on the Sigla sleeve. We walked down to Koffee Korner for lunch (luckily it wasn't raining), and I was home by mid-afternoon. I worked some more on Sigla before and after dinner and then watched a little TV with Fletch.
Sunday was chores (grocery shopping and laundry) and the finish of Sigla!!
I LOVE this sweater! And, I can't believe that I made it - lol. it is currently blocking (which may take awhile since it is so damp).
I wound a couple of skeins of yarn in the afternoon, but haven't cast on anything. Instead I made this:
Pecan Pie Bundt Cake. Oh My! Just a little taste of heaven. Colin is stopping by the house this afternoon to pick some up to take home for Mailing & him. Good thing as this is not a cake that is light on calories. But a little piece is ok.
Yoga tonight, a conference call at 10 this morning. Not sure I will cast on anything today...but hopefully by tomorrow I will have something new on the needles.
Tyg indicated that he was a little jealous that I had been posting pictures of Marcel and Talbot and not him. He agreed to pose nicely:
Love his crossed paws.
Hoping everyone's week is off to a great start! Enjoy!

Friday Felines
Hello!
Still rainy here...and chilly again. And rain is forecast through the weekend (of course). No matter! I have plans to meet up with Dee tomorrow for a bit of coffee and knitting. That will chase away any blues that might have snuck in due to the weather.
Colin worked from home yesterday and texted me this picture of his rainy-day buddies:
Snuggling to keep warm on a damp day.
Well, we've got a hot breakfast at work today...then I have a conference call at 10...then I need to run out to 1) the liquor store, 2) Trader Joe's (home-made pizza for dinner tonight), and 3) one of Fletcher's client's homes - he left his jacket there one day this week when it was HOT outside...he's going to need that coat this weekend.
Whatever your plans - have some fun!!
