From the Summer:
- Our vacation to Vermont and Maine this summer.
- Maryland Sheep & Wool (though the weather was wet and there was a ton of mud!!
- Our son coming for dinner most Thursday nights and even some of those cool enough to enjoy a fire in the pit!
- Garden produce – always. The green beans were not so good this year, but kale was outstanding (and longer lasting than anticipated), great peppers and tomatoes and onions.
- Plenty of reading and knitting time.
- Sisters’ Weekend in two weeks in North Carolina. Cannot wait to see my best friend and her two sisters…spa day already planned, plenty of shopping, cooking, wine drinking, etc.
- More fires in the pit!
- Planning a trail ride (horses) with our son’s girlfriend. The boys will hike.
- Hoping for a camping get-away with Fletch…even if it’s just for a long weekend.
- Fall garden produce – lettuce, spinach, onions, scallions are all planted!!
- Going to Conowengo Dam with friends to Eagle-watch and hike.
Still warm and muggy here, but there is a definite change in the air and we have started dining by candlelight again! Love that.
How about you - what did you do? And what are your plans for Fall?
Summer was all about knitting and reading for me too. Your Sisters Weekend sounds like it will be a great time. So does the Eagle watch!
ReplyDeleteGreat lists! Our garden was so abundant this summer also! A very good thing!! Fall is my favorite time of the year too and a trip to Michigan to visit my kids!
ReplyDeleteYour trips sound like they will be fun. We have had mixed results with our garden this year. No tomatoes to speak of, which is the most disappointing of all.
ReplyDeleteKnitting, reading, enjoying dinner with your son, and the garden all add up to a great summer! I wish I lived a bit closer so I could share our string beans. Ours were especially productive and they're still going strong. I'm also looking forward to our fall spinach and then some Brussels sprouts!
ReplyDeleteThis was such a bust of a summer as far as produce went. Our little garden produced pretty much nothing for all the work and money we spent. I just thank goodness everyday I'm not a farmer. I don't know how they do it.
ReplyDeleteOur big thing for fall is that we are going kayaking again. This time it is a BIG trip --- 4 hours!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a pretty wonderful fall planned too.
Fall plans: enjoy the first autumn in the countryside now that we've moved!
ReplyDeletehealing my broken tail bone :( I cant sit for long. No golf, as the cart would kill me, no kayak.ouch, but I can walk and walk and walk. :)
Knitting! big time!
