Tiny Needle Tuesday 11/12/24

 Good Morning!

Hope everyone is doing well.  I've been battling some kind of a stomach bug.  Thankfully I have an appointment with my doctor this afternoon...hoping to get something/anything to clear up this mess.

And...drumroll...we had some rain Sunday night.  Not a lot (nothing measurable in the rain gauge), but we actually had moisture!  I honestly can't remember when we last had any rain - it's got to be over a month.

And now it's Tuesday and time for a Tiny Needle update.  Initially I wasn't going to bother to post...not much has happened, except I learned that I can't count.

The right side of the house has been completed and I started across the bottom of the house to the front door.  I was outlining the door in preparation for filling it in when I realized my outline was way too narrow...yup, about 7 stitches short.  So, I ripped out that second side of the door and partway across the bottom and I have not picked it up since!

In some positive news, my Christmas cacti are budded!!  I have three.  The largest (and oldest) is from the giant plant my Grandmother had in Vermont.  My offshoot has one or two buds just barely forming.  My other two plants are from Peggy in Virginia.  One of them has several buds and is showing a bit of color.  The other one though - WOW!  Over a dozen buds with many showing color.

Time for me to get moving.  I need/want to clean out the frig before we go grocery shopping a little later.  I hope everyone is having a good week.

  2. Your problem with counting is understandable given the circumstances we've found ourselves in. I do hope the doctor has the answer to resolve your stomach issues. Eating is one of the most enjoyable things and I'd hate for you to not be able to partake. I'm enjoying my Christmas cactus buds, too. I don't know that I've ever been this excited for them!

  3. I hope you get feeling better soon! Stomach bugs are a big, "NO FUN!"

  4. Oh, dear…for both the tummy troubles and the ripping. No fun with any of that. Feel better soon.

  5. Tummy troubles are no fun. I hope whatever it is gets out of your system soon and you're feeling back to normal. I think your cacti might actually be Thanksgiving cacti if they're getting ready to bloom!

We had ran on Sunday, too. I think it was less than an inch total, but it rained off and on for most of the day and was a good soaking rain, which we very badly needed.

  6. Oh ugh, I hope the doctor has a fix for your tummy ailment. Steve ( who will absolutely not go to the doctor, ever) has been having some issues since vacation. Sigh.

I am sorry you had some stitches to rip out... but door placement is critical!! XO

  7. Ugh, I’ve done the miscounting thing more than once on a stitching project. One project was stalled for nearly a decade until I just bit the bullet and finished it mistakes and all.

  8. I hope you're feeling better by now. Being sick is definitely NOT fun. Sorry about the miscounting. We've all done it and it certainly is frustrating when you think you're moving right along.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  10. I sure hope you are feeling better. I'm sorry about the misplaced stitches but I bet you will get back on track. Look at those cacti. Mine look healthy but no buds yet.
