Cookies

 Good Morning!

A quick post as I've got a busy work morning.

Here are the cookies I made yesterday.  They were ok.  Not great, but good.  I think there were too many pretzel bits in the recipe (it called for 3 cups of broken mini pretzels...probably 2 cups would have been better).  The sea salt caramel truffels are good, but when they melt it gets pretty messy on the cookie sheets and some of the caramel oozed out and burned.  I guess all in all I'd rather eat a Take Five bar (plus...more chocolate that way!).  But, it was fun to make something different.  Fletch likes them.

It was great to see Colin & Mailing again last night - we had not seen them since their wedding on October 10th!  They look good and it was a nice evening for a fire.  We sat out from around 8 p.m. till 10 p.m. and by then I was pretty tired, so we headed home.

That will do it for me.  Have a great Thursday and a wonderful weekend.

  1. It's a sad day when cookies are just ok! They sounded so good, but I'm not sure I'll buy the sea salt caramel truffles even if I see them. I hope your next batch of cookies is far better and enjoy a Take Five bar!

  2. I'm sure even just-okay cookies are still better than no cookies at all, but all the same I'm sorry these didn't quite live up to your expectations. I guess it's probably better to eat those caramel truffles straight than to bake with them!

  3. Let the recipe tweaking begin! Did the pretzels stay crunchy? That would be a big concern for me. I'm not a big caramel fan, so maybe butterscotch and chocolate chips and pretzels would be a good substitute in the recipe, providing the same flavours.

  4. Fun to try a new recipe even if it was less than a 10 star.
