Unraveled Wednesday 06-05-19

Good Morning!

First of all, thank you all for your kind words and healing wishes.  I actually thought I might drive home yesterday, but by the time Fletch picked me up I was pretty uncomfortable and felt miserable last night.  No sleep!  Fletch says intense healing is going on and that's why.  Hoping he is correct.  Meanwhile, he dropped me off this morning, but I may go home mid-day and try to get a little nap in.  Thank God everyone at work is so understanding - makes a world of difference.  OK, enough whining.

On the knitting front, I have not accomplished a whole lot, but there has been no more unraveling.  I brought the Odyssey shawl to work today in case I end up staying through lunch.  So here is a shot as of this morning:

I only have 10 more rows and then it will be time to start the first lace panel!  I can't wait for that.  Of course, this shawl grows by 4 stitches every other row, so it is taking longer and longer to knit a row.  I'm hoping to at least get to the lace panel today/tonight.  I also need to remember to put in a lifeline...just in case.....

Nothing new on the reading front, but I had a few more books come through on Overedrive, so hopefully something will spark my interest.

Our weather has been just delightful.  Warmish days (70's) and cool nights - I actually had to grab a blanket for the bed last night!  Fletch picked up some petunias and zinnias from the nursery yesterday.  We still have a few areas to fill in, but things are looking nice.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

  1. Your shawl is the best kind of knitting - looking forward to the gradual color changes and upcoming lace! I do hope you start to feel better soon and can get some rest at night. Sending you good healing wishes!

  2. I too love that shawl! The best thing about gradient yarn - I think I want to knit longer to see the subtle changes!

I hope something sparks your interest and you are reading something wonderful soon!

  3. I love zinnia's. You hardly see them anymore. My grandmother always had a bed of them in her yard and I loved the way they smelled-not exactly floral but good all the same.

  4. Sorry about your "taking a tumble" and I hope there is little, if any pain with that knee. It is always so reassuring when work colleagues step in to help out, too! The shawl is lovely and I like that you rearranged the coloring...Knit on and continue to improve.
    Cheers~

  5. How nice your workmates are so agreeable. I replanted some zinnias as either the rain washed them out or the birds feasted on the seed. Take it easy on that knee. I like your husband's theory about healing.

  6. Keep resting up that knee-you will expect a lot from it soon enough!
The shawl is building up nicely; you will enjoy the lace part!

  7. It's wish to take it easy when the body is going through the healing process. I'm glad that Fletch is able to take you to work and pick you up, too. Take care and take time off if necessary to get the rest your body needs.

  8. Oh I do hope you will soon feel better soon. Healing takes a lot out of you. How nice that Fletch is able to be there for you. Your shawl is absolutely beautiful. It will be fun to see the lace as it progresses too.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. After a fall (or two!) your body gets jarred and has to get settled back into place. And healing from inflammation and an injury does take a lot of energy. If you have the luxury, listen to your body. It's frustrating, I know, but it won't be forever. (It will only seem like it.) ;-)

  11. Best healing wishes. also lace! (and do give yourself time ... your body knows what it needs and it will tell you - you just have to listen ... and honor it!)

  12. That sounds like a nasty injury. But then, is there any kind of knee injury that isn't awful? Do take care of yourself so that it heals as quickly as possible. I know that's hard to do -- but it's worth it!

  16. We just got back from vacation, so I was catching up on all your news. You poor thing! I'm so sorry you've taken such spills recently. And your knee -- ouch!! I do hope it heals quickly so you can bend your knee again and be back to normal. Your knitting is looking great -- Love how that hitch hiker shawl came out! Take it easy!

  18. I am 48, have 3 children, 2 boys age 25 and 22 and a daughter of 11. My husband left me last year after 25 years of marriage (he turned 50). It has been the most difficult year of my life, but full of lessons about myself and what life and marriage are all about. I am passionate about marriage and i didn't give up on my husband. resides in USA, I entered online in search of advice on how i can amend my marriage while i was at work. I saw so many positive reviews and nice feed back about how a Doctor called Robinson.buckler@ yahoo. com has been wonderful with his work. I gave a shot to make contact with him via his Email and he assured me that my marriage will be peaceful and i believed in his words. 16 hours after he finished work, my husband came back home pleading and now, we are living peacefully again. Get in contact with him if you need any help.
