Friday Felines and Carrots!!

Good Morning!

Whew!  this has been a week for sure.  I won't bore you with the details, but of course my week had Lame Duck dealings and dealings with the Successor-To-Lame-Duck.  I am exhausted (and the successor needs some major "training" if you know what I mean - lol).

There were very good parts to the week though - all of which revolve around food (of course!).  Mailing has been out of town for work, so Colin was over twice this week for dinner.  On Tuesday he grilled some chicken thighs and we had roasted root veggies to go with (onions, potatoes, turnips and beets). So good!

Wednesday night Fletch and I met up with Dee and Steve for dinner which was so nice!

Colin was back last night and he grilled lamb chops to perfection.  Meanwhile we had both green beans and carrots from the garden.  Here is Tyg trying to take credit for growing the produce!

The carrots were glazed in a honey/butter combination with a bunch of sliced garlic.  Oh my!

Meanwhile, I've got to get through today at work (hoping to get out by 1...but not sure) and looking forward to tomorrow when Dee and I are getting together for a morning walk followed by some lunch and shopping.  Sounds like a perfect day to me!

Enjoy your weekend...I've gotta run.

  4. Tyg grew lots of good-looking carrots! I do love hearing about the really delicious meals that you share with Colin and Mailing. Distance keeps us from doing that very often, but I like to think we would also get together with our adult kids if we lived closer. Hope you have a great weekend and not too much exhausting time with LD and StLD next week!

  9. That Tyg! What a character! He looks so . . . casual. Just hanging out. With his carrots. As one does. :-)
    Have a great weekend.

  10. Well, Tyg probably DID keep the mice and little critters from eating your produce. So techinically....................

  12. You have my sympathy for having to train a new STLD! We have had to do that with the USFS Site Managers at Multnomah Falls.. we get a new one and it's funny as us volunteers have to totally tell them what they'll need to do. Enjoy your freedom this weekend! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  14. Colin twice ! wonderful. Zach has been home for 3 weeks today. It is a joy to have him home, but I fear we bore him something fierce. Mostly I think he misses his Fun Mexico friends . It is a transition time, and he loves paddle boarding and golfing with Fireman here. He and I go on photo shoots together .
