Unraveled Wednesday 06-27-18

Good Morning,

Rather a grey and gloomy day out there this morning - a bit difficult to wake up.

Despite the Lame Duck's appearance in the office yesterday, I was able to escape mid-day.  I drove to a shady location, parked and managed to knit 3 rows on my Winter Sea shawl.  And, my stitch count is spot on!!  Here's a picture from last night:

I managed to knit a bit more after this picture was taken.  The pattern is a 16 row repeat.  I'm in the midst of one of those repeats and then just have two more to do.  I may decide to make it a bit bigger (if my yarn holds out, which it should).

This will be a very cozy shawl.  The yarn is from Green Mountain Spinnery and is a wool/cotton blend.  It's a bit rough on my hands, but I'm loving the way this is turning out.  It will obviously need a good soak and blocking when all is said and done, but I'm very pleased with it.

Not sure if I can get out today to knit.  Wednesday's are typically pretty busy for me and my other boss (not the Lame Duck!!) is coming in - he and Bobby, our CEO, are meeting with some local folks as we may be acquiring another company.

Panel interviews for the Lame Duck's position are being held tomorrow and Friday with a decision by next week.  I think the decision has already been made and that the interviews are just "for show."

OK, time for me to get to work!  Happy Hump Day!!

  6. Oh I feel bad when interviews are just for show. For the other ones who aren't getting the job. I LOVE YOUR SHAWL progress

  8. The shawl looks great now so we know it will only improve after blocking-nice work to revive it!

  9. Having a knitting break seems like a good way to keep your sanity.
Don't you hate those "for show" interviews? Why waste everyone's time!

  10. So.. who do you think they've chosen? I used to be the Executive Director for a non-profit organization and I really did not like when we had to interview and hire people. Sometimes they worked out and sometimes there did not. Your shawl is looking amazing! I love shawls. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  12. Your shawl is beautiful (I really like the unblocked texture!), and I hope your new Not Lame Duck is a good person.

Also, Karen at https://www.pumpkinsunrise.com/ sent me this comment fix: "If you go to settings, delete your email, save, then enter your email, save again. You will be invited to subscribe to your blog through email, click that and you're good to go. In other words it is resolved :)"
I tried it and am thrilled to say that it worked. Fingers crossed that it works for you!
