Tiny Needle Tuesday

 Good Morning!

I woke at 3 a.m. and looked out the back window to see a deer munching apples in the yard.  Then, of course, I had a difficult time getting back to sleep.

I only saw 3 other people (from a distance) at the office yesterday.  I was there a little longer than normal, but was able to accomplish a lot.  Then I did head out for wine and a little shopping at TJMaxx.  Today I need to go back to TJMaxx to return things.  The dressing rooms were not open, so I couldn't try stuff on.  The black jeans I bought are skin tight - like leggings.  If I wanted leggings, I would have bought those.  It seems that all the jeans I see in stores these days are either skin tight or ripped or huge bell bottoms - none of which I want.  I also bought bras with no underwires, but they don't fit right.  No biggie, I can do without, just a pain to have to drive back over there.

Meanwhile on Tiny Needle Tuesday I just have a tiny amount of stitching to show.  I did nothing on the Pomegranate Birds sampler and just managed to start the bottom portion of the Coverlet Birds Sampler.

I'm still waiting on the blue flower thread so that I can complete this.  I ordered it on September 6th and thought it would be here that week.  When I emailed about the order on the 14th, the response I received was "I will pop it in the mail this morning...sorry for the delay."  Well, the delay continues.  I hope it comes before the weekend as I'd like to take this small project with me on vacation...but I need the blue thread to be able to work on it.  I should have just used DMC for this one...hindsight....

It's looking a little murky out this morning.  I will try to tackle at least some of the cleaning things on my "to do before vacation" list.  If work isn't too crazy I should be able to get things done.  Dinner tonight is an easy but good one:  broiled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto.  Yum!

Cheers to a productive Tuesday!!

  1. How frustrating to have to wait for your floss. I've been very lucky lately and things have been showing up very quickly. Knit Picks beat Amazon with some yarn I needed here this week. I was so shocked.

  3. I am glad you had such a productive day yesterday! But boo for having to return some things. (and that jeans thing... well that is why I sew my clothes, not jeans... yet. But soon I think!)

Oh, and if you run an internet business, your customer service must be spectacular. I hope the floss arrives soon!

  4. Shopping for jeans . . . is one of the biggest UGHs in the world. Here's to a productive day for you, Vera! :-)

  5. I get very frustrated trying to buy clothes, too! I am not 16 anymore and I want clothes that look and FEEL good for me, too! Duh!
I hope the floss gets here in time to take on vacation!

  6. Your stitching continues to look just lovely, and I hope your floss arrives soon. It's taken a bit of trial and error and returning things, but I've finally found bras and jeans from Amazon that fit. I hate shopping in person, but I hate having to return things even more. Good luck finding things that fit and aren't ripped or bell bottoms!

  7. Hope you get your thread soon!

If you haven't already, try Old Navy for jeans - they have a few good lines. I prefer their boot cut, but they also have a straight cut that's not terribly tight. You can order multiple sizes online, have them deliver, keep the best fit and send back the rest for free (by mail!). You never have to go to a store!

  8. I know how you feel about jeans shopping. It's just one of the reasons I stopped wearing pants and went to dresses 99% of the time. Much easier to find something that fits and they're COMFORTABLE!
I hope you get your floss soon, before you leave. That's one of the reasons I went to using just DMC. It was hard to find more floss when I needed it.
I hope your day is going great Vera! We have beautiful cooler weather today and slept with the windows open for the first time in months last night.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. Bras, bathing suits, jeans--all those are the absolute worst to shop for. I have had success with the Lucky brand of jeans, and I get them at Marshall's (a sister brand of TJ Maxx). But stores like that are hit and miss with their offerings.

    Good luck in your quest!

  13. Jeans now days are a pain aren't they? I've worn out two pairs - I mean they have been patched to death - and plan to replace them with yoga pants and tunics. The stitching is lovely as always.
