Weekending

 Good Morning!

Looking like another beautiful day here in Eastern PA.  The weekend was absolutely gorgeous - in so many ways!!  I think we are all breathing a little easier today.  Lots to be done - hard work, hurdles to jump, etc...but we are moving forward...finally!

Saturday morning I met up with Dee for some coffee and chatter-knitting.  As always it was so good to get together.  That night Fletch and I had a fire.

We could hear a bunch of celebrating going on in our neighborhood.  Lots of music and fun going on.

Sunday was my day for chores.  I did grocery shopping and 3 loads of laundry.  When I got home from the grocery store, Fletch was vacuuming!  He said he had gotten so aggravated and frustrated working on a project that he took a break to vacuum the guest room.  Ha!  My response was:  "we need to get you aggravated a little more often!"

Tyg was very lazy on Sunday and mostly stayed inside napping, so I took the opportunity to do a little archery:

More arrows hit the target than not this time!  It felt good to draw back the bow again and get moving!

Our Red Bud is just about naked now as are many of our trees.  The burning bushes are gorgeous now.  That one by our shed is even more red now!  BTW, the wood up against the woods behind the target is to stop any arrows that go over the target from going into the woods...and believe me that has happened!  I overshoot or undershoot more than I get on target.

Now it is back to work.  I'm heading into the office tomorrow to see Bill and Kevin and do a bunch of color printing.  Most likely I'll just be there for the morning.

Wishing everyone a great week!

  1. I'm glad you had a lovely and productive weekend, Vera, complete with chatter knitting. Your archery shooting looks pretty darn good to me. I haven't shot in several months and really need to get back out there. Hope you have a short day in the office today and a good week ahead!

  2. Fletch being a Vacuuming Volunteer is just one of the many reasons I wish we lived closer to one another! LOL I detest vacuuming, and with the cats shedding a lot right now, I have to do it every other day.

All the fall colour is so spectacular this year! Burning bushes are such a vibrant magenta here, and although most trees are almost bare, a few red ones are hanging on. We'll be at 76 degrees today, so I am going to be outdoors as much as possible. I hope you can be, too.

  3. wasn't this weather the bestest? We were outside sitting and socializing after the wedding shower, who would have thought that would happen?

  4. I got a chuckle at Fletch’s reason for vacuuming; however, that’s a great way to deal with his aggravation. Chatter knitting sounds great. I miss having someone to knit with me. I agree that the weekend was glorious on so many levels: I hope your week goes well, too.

  5. The weather this weekend was such a treat! We were able to get together with family for dinner both Friday and Saturday night because we were able to sit outside. We might not get another chance to do that for quite a while! And it was extra good to be able to celebrate this weekend!

  6. Dennis always wants to be doing something. Me too, but some of my "doing" can be done by sitting in my chair with my needles in hand. He vacuumed at the house quite often and I do think he misses his yard work a little.
We're supposed to have snow again tomorrow and a winter advisory has been posted. We are much, much colder again and I think our warmth of last week has made it's way to your neighborhood!
Great job on the shooting. I'm impressed!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. I tried to make a fire the other night but all it did was smoke thanks to the high humidity. It was terrible.

  8. Sounds like a nice weekend. Our gorgeous weather came to an end today but it's ok. It's November. A big wind blew all the leaves down so it is nice to see your red leaves.

  9. as Betsy says, her Dennis always wants to be doing something. That's how Camp goes here. WE ended up hiking the lake front trail for 2 hours unplanned Saturday.
However, Fireman DID cycle alone early Sunday morning while
    i slept.......

  10. Your weekend sounds pretty ideal. Well.. except for having to do laundry. Dayle puts ours through the wash and I do the folding and stowing away. I'm so happy that we have new leadership, I just hope the lame duck doesn't burn the place down on his way out. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  11. Hello Vera,
It was a beautiful weekend and Monday was awesome. I usually do the vacuuming and dusting. It would nice to have some help. Our neighbor had a huge bonfire, it lit up the neighborhood. Take care, enjoy your day!
