Unraveled Wednesday 02/12/20

Good Morning!

So far it's a weird day:  1) it is not raining, 2) the sun is out, 3) I am extremely busy at work.  All of it weird!!

Therefore, a rather quick post on this busy Wednesday.  I was able to get through the 2nd lace section on the Odyssey Shawl with no need to rip anything back!  I'm keeping the life line in and sometimes I think just having it prevents any mishaps!  Kind of a Murphy's Law sort of thing:  if I didn't have the life line, you know I'd be making a mess of it - lol.

Fletch does a pretty good job of holding the shawl out!  Last night I managed to put in two rows on the 3rd section before my eyes started to close.  Knitting with closed eyes is not a good idea for me.

And the Barn Owl sock has seen a little love as well.  I'll do  few more rows on the leg before I start the heel.

Gosh I'm loving this yarn - so pretty!  And, bonus:  Fletch likes it too (and these socks will be for him).

On the reading front I picked up When Women Were Birds at the library on Saturday and am halfway through it.  This is a book to savor!  It is just so good.  Thank you Jane for introducing Terry Tempest Williams to me.

OK, I've already been interrupted 3-4 times while typing this short post.  I'd best get back to work.  Linking up with Kat for Unraveled Wednesday.  Head on over to see what others are making and reading.

The shawl and the socks look great. Fletch is a great model. Maybe he could be the next Price is Right star.

  3. The sun is shining here, too, and it seems weird! It's supposed to be short-lived though, with rain and then cold returning this afternoon. Fletch makes a great shawl holder and those barn owl socks just keep looking better and better. I am going to have to get some of that yarn for myself!

  6. That Barn Owl sock is really nice and Fletch is an excellent knitwear holder. :-) I feel the same about lifelines, but I usually forget to put one in.
Have a good day and I hope it slows down for you.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. what is sun?? ha ha. We have sunshine as well, I took the camera and walked around the yard because this sunshine is fleeting. Aren't we supposed to get nasty weather again?

  8. We had about 20 minutes of wonderful sunshine this morning and now it's back to gray. At least the rain won't be coming back in until dinner time.
Your projects are lovely. How nice it must be to have someone so handsome to hold up your projects!

  9. What good progress on both the shawl and the sock! Nice to have no unraveling!

  10. I am so glad you are enjoying When Women Were Birds. I do prefer this author's nonfiction. Very early on she wrote a few works of fiction but they were not to my liking. The shawl and the socks both look great. We had a snow squall late this afternoon but now the wind is just blowing in very cold Arctic air.

  11. I also like the barn owl yarn, it's so interesting I bet you don't get bored working on it. You're a good wife to make socks for your guy. Have a good weekend! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  13. I think your shawl will be lovely. You should get Fletch to model all of your projects - like the woman on Instagram whose husband models all of her shawls (quite dramatically too!) and whose name currently escapes me.

I love those socks - the yarn is really lovely.

I walked all the way to work today without a drop falling on me - WIN!
