Well Hi!
As the title states, I'm a bit behind today. And this will be a quick post. First up, this is what I saw early this a.m.
A gorgeous sunrise. My phone didn't really properly capture the brilliance, but you can get the idea.
After that, I headed to the dermatologist. Ever since I had a basil cell removed a number of years ago...then lost half my nose to basil cell cancer about 5 years ago, I get checked (full body) every 6 months. Yay for nothing found to be cut out today!!
Then I headed to work, and it has been a busy day. It is almost time for me to leave which is a happy thought.
So what has been going on? Friday, as my phone sat on my desk at work, suddenly ALL my contacts disappeared. Yup - no phone numbers, no email addresses. What a PITA. I've no idea what or how that happened, but it did. I'm slowly adding contacts as I have time.
Very little knitting was done over the weekend. Nothing on the Canary Blanket! And just a few rows on the 2nd sock for my SIL:
I think the leg is about half way finished, so hopefully not too long before I turn the heel and start down the foot.
My table is messy (folders, books, papers, etc.), but Fletch picked a Winter Berry branch and some wild cherries. I love the way they look with the little tray in front with gourds and pine cones.
We had some friends/neighbors over on Saturday for dinner and Denise brought dessert. She made a very dense apple cake - sort of like a Boston brown bread density. Very tasty and to go on top she made pumpkin mousse. Oh my! I know not everyone is a fan of pumpkin flavor, but this was so light and airy and simply delicious. I've been tempted to eat the leftovers straight out of the frig with a spoon - no need for a bowl or anything (but I have resisted).
Oh and we went to a new grocery store yesterday which was fun but it took forever because we didn't know our way around the store and we HAD to look at EVERYTHING.
OK - snow is in the forecast for tomorrow (and rain) and then Wednesday the high is supposed to only be in the low 30's. I wore my Sigla sweater last Friday and I may need to pull that out again!
Gotta run - hope your week is off to a great start.
Oh the colours in that sock! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how something like a diffrent story layout can completely change how long your chores take. Whenever I take Dave grocery shopping, it takes twice as long because he has to look at every shelf to see if there's something he wants. I know where everything is so I can just go off my list and whiz through. (I also spend twice as much when Dave is with me, but that's another story.)
I am so happy your doctor visit was all clear! I am hoping for little to no snow... its just a might too early!
ReplyDeleteHooray for a great dermatologist visit; I hope things stay that way! That sock is beautiful and I hope you get a bit more time to work on it. I'm also hoping for no snow yet!
ReplyDeleteBrrrr......that big freeze that's coming is not making me happy. November snow is not my idea of a good time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the doc didn't find anything bad. The sock is gorgeous. Stay warm!
ReplyDelete((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Happy to hear your skin check went well - it's so important to keep on top of skin changes. I adore that sock yarn!
ReplyDeleteYAY for the all clear and sending good wishes that you get a few slow moments this week to catch your breath. I'm needing a rest just reading your post!
ReplyDeleteNice work on this sock-even if you didn't get to it like you might've if you didn't have company! Be safe with the snow tomorrow; glad you had the all clear at the dermo!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that your skin check went well. I have a full body check once a year because two siblings and my Dad had melanoma.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sock. I love that yarn and the happy colors.
Take care and be safe in the snow.
Blessings,
Betsy
Hello, great news your checkup went well. The sock looks pretty. Our winterberry is not looking good this year, not as many berries. I am not ready for snow yet. Wishing you a happy day and week ahead.
ReplyDeleteI love the winterberry! So pretty -- and festive. I love that sock you've got going there - such cheerful, happy yarn. (I'll be it makes you happy when you're knitting away on it.) Such good news at the dermatologist! XO
ReplyDeleteHow fun to wear your sweater!!! we too have snow!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your exam went well! Sorry about the phone. Where the heck did they go? Are they hiding in a different file just for fun???
ReplyDeleteI love you sock yarn. I am also glad you exam at the dermatology office went well. I go once a year for a full body check. Better than the alternative for sure. I hope your phone is back up and running with all contacts. I need a new one but have been putting off the expense.
ReplyDeleteOh, that sunrise!!!
