One Done! Unraveled Wednesday 08/28/19

Good Morning All!

Our temps are still cooler than they have been, but they are steadily going up and it is grey outside.  I think before long the rain will set in.  Perfect because I am sleepy again - lol.  After not sleeping all that great the other night, on Monday I slept straight through for 9.5 hours!  Heaven.  Then last night I was awake from around 2 a.m. to 3 or 3:30.  I was also having the weirdest dreams.  Fletch told me he was having strange dreams too.

Meanwhile, before going to bed last night I did finish the first watermelon sock and started #2!

All that in spite of Tyg's help!  He so desperately wants to have those DPNs as toys.  Even clicking on the pics to enlarge, it's difficult to see the start of #2, but I think I managed to start it around the same place in the yarn pattern as #1.

Yesterday I brought in onions from our garden for Bill (one of my bosses).  He, in turn, brought me garlic from his garden (because we didn't get enough in our garden!!) and fresh bay leaves.  The bay leaves are gorgeous.  So glossy and shiny.  He said they grow it in a pot - putting it outside in the summer and bringing it inside for the winter.  I may need to try that.  I never though of growing bay leaves.

My "guys" are all back for day 2 of training.  They've asked me to keep them stocked in Advil - lol.  And, there is a surprise birthday luncheon for one of my co-workers today.  Which reminds me that Bill's birthday is Monday.  I don't expect him in the office again this week, but I need to remember a card and a nice bottle of wine.

No new reading since I finished "Late Migrations," but I'll start something soon.  Linking up with Kat for Unraveled Wednesday.  Hop on over to her blog to see what everyone is making and reading.

  1. You are on a roll with the watermelon socks now and they look great! I do hope you can eventually manage to get a decent night's sleep every night, instead of just every other night because you're so tired from sleeping poorly the previous night.

  3. I love those socks! I've got that yarn on it's way here from lord knows where. I ordered it weeks ago but they say it's still on its way. I can't wait but I may have to put it away until next summer. I'm all about the fall projects now.

  4. Nice work on the sock. Lucky for you, Tyg provides constant Quality Control.

Having sleep problems is frustrating, I know. Mine come in cycles that are unfathomable to me. I've read that the best thing you can do is to maintain your regular routines as far as wake-up and bedtimes. I hope it settles out soon.

  7. I think those watermelon socks are so cute. Tyg seems to think so too. I remember having to keep my dpn's put away when we had Amelia and Frannie here. They loved them.
Sorry about your sleep issues. They sound a lot like mine. It doesn't seem like men have the same issues as a lot of us ladies, so I think it wouldn't be a stretch to say they might be hormonal? I know I'm tired. A lot.
    Take care.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. Lovely sock!
I hope the weather doesn't get too warm for you. It's not terrible here but the humidity is back.

  9. I love this weather because I'm not sweltering. I won't mind rain if it's in the 70's. Love the sock and you are knitting fast (at least to me!).

  12. I just love your watermelon socks! How neat to trade veggies. We've been trading eggs for things.. but mostly we give them to friends and family as they are coming out of our ears.. at least we haven't had to PAY for people to take them.. lol.
    ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  14. Hello, I just love the cute sock.. I have trouble sleeping, last night I tried the Advil Pm for the first time, I slept through the night. Fresh Bay leaves sound great. I am going to try to bring in my basil plants and a few other herbs I have growing in pots for the winter. I hope they survive. Tyg is a cutie, great companion. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend ahead!

  16. Good work on the socks. I love the watermelon stripes. The gardens are winding down. Bay leaves - that is new one although since it is a plant it has to grow somewhere. Why not try it in a pot?
