Wow did we have some strong storms last night! Lots of lightening and thunder and so much rain. One of my roads to work today was closed due to flooding. Hopefully it will be cleared up by Noon (when I am planning to leave to start the weekend early).
No new knitting to show and no Friday Felines this week. But, I don't think I ever showed the garlic from our garden. Fletch pulled it on the 3rd and it's hanging on our patio to dry. We gave some to Colin, but this is the balance of what we have:
The yellow thing is Fletch's kayak, the wooden guideboat he built is below that. I can't wait to use some of this garlic - so yummy!
I'm one of those people who cannot wait for Fall - my favorite season. But even I think this is rushing things a bit:
This was from our grocery store ad that I was looking through while having coffee this a.m. Before you know it, Halloween candy will be in the aisles.
Finally - I think we (really Fletch - he did all the work) found the car we want. We're going to look at it tomorrow!! Fingers crosssed it will be perfect!

I overheard a Mom talking about having to get school supplies. So, I Googled ..... school doesn't start here until Sept. 3. Either she is super-organized or crazy.

ReplyDeleteSchools here don't start until after labor day but all of the supplies are out in the stores already. I love fall, but hate to see it arrive because I REALLY detest winter.
ReplyDeleteI hope the rain calms down for you. We actually had some sprinkles here Tuesday which is highly unusual. It's been a cool summer so far but the heat is being turned up today.
That garlic looks great. I love garlic in almost everything except dessert. :-)

Oh, my.....Back to School already? It used to give me the creeps but now that I'm retired it just means good prices on stationary supplies!

oh wow - home grown garlic sounds delicious! School for our county starts Aug 12, but neighboring counties start the week before. We have a school supply drive at church and it ends Sunday... it's no fun when the vacation runs out before the summer does! good luck with your car ... fingers crossed for y'all!

You grew your own garlic, how wonderful. You will have to tell us if it tastes any different than what you purchase. This year at school they had a program where you can order the supplies your kids need, boy did I sign up for that fast!

ReplyDeleteI keep thinking there's still a couple of months before school starts, but then remember it's already mid-July and school here starts the 3rd week of August usually. And then there are those who need to spread out the purchases over a few weeks for financial reasons. I do need to remember to check the school glue stick supply though... and pencil box supply for organizing. and notebooks for keeping papers and clippings organized. I wish they'd put printer ink on back to school sales!
