Unraveled Wednesday July 10, 2019

Good Morning,

Said through a foggy brain.  Not sure what my issue is today, but I am definitely in a fog.  One of the roads I usually take to work has been closed for almost a month for bridge repairs. This morning I turned down that road...driving along when suddenly construction vehicles and roadblocks are in front of me.  What was I thinking?  Obviously not much - lol.  I did manage to turn around and make it to my office safely, but I still feel out of sorts.

On the bright side of things, I did knit a bit more on my Porthos sock and there was no unraveling.

I've now completed two pattern repeats for a total of 24 rows on the leg.  This is a quick knit (hoping I did not jinx myself by saying that...) and a fun one.

On the reading front, I started this book and am enjoying it so far (about 100 pages into it).  It is holding my attention which is more than I can say for some recent books I've started.  I picked it up at the library along with The Salt Path which I am eager to read.

Visit Kat to see what others are making and reading this July.  Happy Hump Day!!

  1. I've often driven like that--on autopilot--and am shocked to find that I arrive without knowing how I got there, my mind so absent.

The sock is getting along nicely; it's an interesting pattern.

I am awaiting two books from Amazon now, somewhat impatiently. I read more traditionally--not ebooks.

  2. The sock is looking good. That yarn looks nice and squishy!!!

    Hope the day clears up!

  3. Could your fog be due to not enough knitting? I think it might be a distinct possibility! I thought I had read that book, but when I looked it up, it turns out there are SIX books with the same title by different authors. I will put this one on my list!

  4. The sock looks like it's too complicated to be a quick knit! it is very pretty.

  7. Hope you're feeling less foggy.
Dave had me up early this morning - I had to follow him to the mechanic where he was dropping off his car for some work. It's only a five minute drive from the house (he could walk home but he won't), and in that time I almost missed two of my three turns. I shouldn't drive before the morning cobwebs have cleared!

  8. That sock is beautiful. I really like the pattern.
I have driven like that before. I remember a time when I drove from the church to our house and wondered why all of the strange cars were in our driveway and then remembered we had moved...4 years before! Where was my brain. It's scary sometimes isn't it? Hope you're feeling more like yourself soon.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  10. Oh, I've done the autopilot thing while driving quite often! I always wonder WHAT I was thinking . . . but it happens. Hope your "fog" has lifted, and you're enjoying your day! XO

  11. I am notorious for driving like that! Glad it only resulted in an inconvenience and not an accident! The sock has a very interesting pattern with your colored yarn---looks great!

  13. oooh, those socks are developing nicely! hope the fog dissipates. maybe there's some moon/planet phase to explain, because I'm feeling something similar myself? (also, I haven't unraveled lately either and I always feel like I need to whisper that, or knock on wood when I say it ;-)

  14. Those socks are going to be great. The book about the lighthouse keeper's daughter intrigues me. There is a certain mystique about lighthouses - especially when you live on the prairie.

  15. We've had some nasty bridge construction going on the past year and I am very happy to say for the most part it's over. What a nuisance.
