Hello!
The morning sort of got away from me - I actually was pretty busy this morning. But...I managed to take a lunch break and finished up the first Porthos sock!
I decided to add just a small touch of color at the end of the toe - used some of the Madeline Tosh in the Tart colorway and I love that bit of red. That's a pretty long foot (70 rows before the toe decrease), but both Fletch and Colin have fairly large feet. Not sure who these socks will be for, but most likely Colin (Fletch had the nerve to say something along the lines of his sock drawer was getting crowded...what???). Anyway, I'm hoping to cast on Porthos #2 either tonight or tomorrow.
I haven't been outside since I got to work just after 7 a.m., but the temp is lower and we've had some showers all morning. This weekend...however...is supposed to be brutal! Temps over 100 with high humidity. Dee and I do have plans to get together but I'm sure we can find air conditioning to hang out in. If you are in the midst of this heat wave, stay hydrated!! (Today's water has blackberries and mint in it😋)
Love the red toe! And yes, it sounds like Colin is more deserving!
ReplyDeleteTell Fletch to do what Dave has done... move his socks to the top shelf in the closet.... that way he can just keep piling them up!
It's brutal temps here....but I rush through my outside chores and come inside and get creative where it is cool! The sock with its tip of red is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat red toe is cool! It's like lipstick on a sock! We're having wonderful temps here but next week is supposed to be in the 90's. Still, our humidity is nothing like what you experience out there.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely afternoon.
Blessings,
Betsy
That red toe is awesome! But, in this heat... just thinking about socks makes me hot!
ReplyDeletenice sock and I love the bag in the background :)
ReplyDeleteLove that RED Toe! and I for sure think Fletch has talked himself out of new socks ... for at least a long time if not forever! blackberry mint water sounds heavenly. do you have all the herbs growing in your yard? sadly, we have none ... maybe next summer!
ReplyDeleteThat red toe is just great, and I think those socks should be for Colin. You wouldn't want Fletch to suffer the heartbreak of a crowded sock drawer! :-) (Mmmm ...blackberries and mint!)
ReplyDeleteThat red toe is so much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteStay cool this weekend. I'm not sticking my head out for anything.
I love that red toe. Stay cool and safe. I think it is hot all over the country. Cucumber water coming up.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea for the red toe! Love it
ReplyDelete❤️ the red toe and the finished sock!
ReplyDeleteThe sock looks great! Isn't adding a red toe fun?
ReplyDeleteGreat-looking sock; love the red toe!
