Teeny Needle Tuesday

Hello!

Welcome to another edition of TNT...this time with a finished piece!  Woo-Hoo!

I'm not crazy about the pieces/motifs floating out in space, but I'm not going to rip them out.  They are all over 2...I did not bother doing any of the over 1 designs - the fabric is just too tight for that.  I do love the border, the pumpkin and the bittersweet.  At some point I will pick out some backing fabric and make this into a little pin cushion.  I have a dough bowl from Fletcher's grandmother that is filled with little cushions - some made by me, some by friends.

This was finished Friday night and I started to work on another unfinished piece Saturday, but I'm not loving it (which may be why it is unfinished).  I'll poke through my unlimited stash and come up with something to work on - either a WIP or a brand new piece.  It will be nice to work on lighter fabric for sure.  This dark (the color of the fabric is Wood Smoke) and high count (40) linen just about did in my eyes - lol.

Last night I did manage a few more rows on the Shell Cottage sock - only a few more and I will be at the heel turn.  And my Hitchhiker had a few more rows added at lunch yesterday - hopefully more today.

The other night I was reading in bed and fell asleep (with Kindle in my hands and glasses on - lol).  I woke up about 30 minutes later and turned off my Kindle.  Last night I opened it up and tried to get into my book and the message I got was that it had been removed.  I'm trying to figure this out, because my Kindle has been in Airplane mode (and still is) which means that the book could not have gone back to the library (plus I don't think it is due yet).

Meanwhile, I'm at work and need to get busy.  hope you all have a wonderful day!

  1. Love your finish! Love your socks too (from the last post). That design is so pretty! Bummer about the book on your kindle. Very puzzling!

  2. Congratulations on finishing! For what it's worth, a librarian told me that Overdrive "closed the airplane mode loophole" about two months ago. I also had a book disappear from my Kindle, and when I asked about it, she said that once a book's loan period has ended, it is automatically removed from your Kindle and returned to the library, even if you have put your Kindle in airplane mode or turned off wifi. I can't explain your book disappearing if it wasn't due yet, but if it was, airplane mode no longer works to keep it on your Kindle. :-(

  3. I personally like the out in space thing--but totally agree that once those are in there, they are not coming out!

  5. I like your idea of having small handmade things collected and displayed in a family heirloom.

I can usually tell if I'm ready to fall asleep--even while doing something--because I start feeling edgy or annoyed. That's when it's time for me to turn things off/put them down and get to sleep.

  8. What a beautiful cross stitch piece. I like the little motifs, but the pumpkin is my favorite part. I really like white pumpkins. I’m so sorry to hear about your book. I have no advice though, because I rarely borrow books from the library on my Kindle. Wishing you a wonderful day today Vera. We’re getting more snow. Big surprise there, right?
    Blessings, Betsy

  9. I love it!! It's so vintage. I can't believe you got it done on that small fabric. I can't imagine. I am struggling with my 22 count aida!

  11. I HATE when my books turn into pumpkins. . .
(But I do love your pumpkin stitching. It will make such a cute mini-cushion.)

  12. Forty count on dark linen is not easy. Forty count on ANY color is not easy!
