Unraveled Wednesday 2-13-19

Good Morning All!

It is back to work today for moi.  It was so nice to just stay home yesterday - and I'm glad I did as it continued to sleet throughout the morning and into the early afternoon.  I managed to get caught up on laundry that I had not gotten to over the weekend and had plenty of time to stitch and knit.  No unraveling!!  The Sunday Swing sock is onto the foot part:

Not that you can tell from this picture, but I have decided to continue the pattern on the front of the foot.  So far, so good!

Next up, my Hitchhiker has a few more teeth on it now.

This is such a fun and easy knit, though it is easy to get lulled with the rhythm and I've caught myself making mistakes.  Easy fixes, but a waste of time.  I'm really enjoying the colors in this yarn.

I'm pretty drowsy today.  It seems as though I'm back to having a bit of insomnia.  I go to bed and fall asleep just fine but almost every single night I am awake from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.  Oy!  Hopefully this will change soon.

Last night Tyg wanted to go out at 3 a.m.!  It was pretty mild (in comparison to what we have been having).  When I came downstairs at 5:30 he was not around.  Eventually he showed up with a live mouse in his mouth.  Yuck!  Of course he wanted to come in WITH said mouse.  That wasn't happening.  He finally dropped it (and it quickly expired) and came in to eat (thank goodness he doesn't [typically] eat what he catches).  I had to make sure NOT to step on the mouse when I left for work.  Hopefully Fletch will take care of it and I won't have to see it again when I get home.

Linking up with Kat and friends for Unraveled Wednesday.  Here's hoping none of you have unwanted surprises waiting at your back door!!

  1. Lovely knitting, Vera! I have the same sleep issue from time to time --- no problem falling asleep, but waking between 2 and 4 with (what I call) "busy brain." Ugh. I hope you have a great day. XO

  4. Beautiful knitting. Isn’t it fun to have a surprise day off? I have insomnia most nights. I rarely fall asleep before midnight and I’ve been waking up with Dennis at 5:00 for a couple of hours. Sometimes I fall back to sleep for a half an hour or so, but not often. I can feel it wearing on me. Yuck on the mouse. That’s one thing Amelia and Frannie have never done and I’m glad. We used to have a cat that would catch birds and mice and bring them in and put them in our bed as a gift. Yuck! Blessings, Betsy

  5. Oh I feel for you with the insomnia. I had it a couple of weeks ago but thank goodness it's resolved itself as I understand the exhaustion! Your hitchhiker is lovely!

  8. My cats are back to waking me up too early to go out. They had been sleeping in. I guess they know spring is around the corner and the varmints are waking up. Ugh.

  9. Your Hitchhiker is really beautiful! I love those colors and the fact that they're not pooling. I don't know if your mistakes are due to not being sure what row you're on, but if they are, you might consider using a stitch marker to keep track of your rows. Take a look at the notes on this project: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/nekkidknitter/hitchhiker-2
It's simple and I use it on all of mine.

  12. I wake up a lot but I fall asleep eventually so I'm grateful for that. Wasn't the weather crazy? I had two snow days in a row and didn't have to babysit!

  13. Your knitting looks great. You can't go wrong with a Hitchhiker. Sounds as if your area is having some crazy weather. We have snow forecast for the next three days but sometimes it goes around us.
