Valentine's Day

Good Morning and Happy Valentine's Day!

I've already mentioned this to several people, but I do believe there is Hope for Spring!!  On my drive to work this morning I spotted a Red Winged Blackbird.  Normally I don't see them until Spring is upon us.  Not only did I see him, but his red patch was in the shape of a heart.  Perfect for today.

Moving along, as I drove down the road I spotted a skunk waddling across the road.  I also normally don't see skunks until Spring is upon us.

Dare we hope?

Happy to say that I slept well last night.  Honestly, I don't think I had much choice.  I knit a few rows on the Sunday Swing sock after dinner, but my eyes were burning and I couldn't keep them open.  Fletch had a nature program on the TV, so I joined him and promptly fell asleep - lol.  I woke up periodically to see bits and pieces, but at 9:00 I went upstairs and slept through until just before my alarm went off at 5:30 this morning.  Yay!

We are having a Valentine's luncheon today at work - I'm sure there will be plenty of things I shouldn't eat.  I'm also sure I'll be consuming anyway.  Life is too short to not eat chocolate.

Wishing you all the best of days!

  2. I'd love to believe Spring was close, but we're only halfway through Feb. We've still got a month minimum here!

  3. I’m glad you were finally able to get some sleep. I know how hard it is when it seems that you’re perpetually tired. I don’t think spring will ever come here. Ha! And then, in the summer we’ll be complaining because it’s so hot. We have more snow coming tonight tomorrow and most of next week. I have to admit that it is very pretty. But it is very much a pain to keep clearing it off . Blessings, Betsy

  6. I spent $40 at the grocery store on chocolates yesterday. That's what I get for Valentine shopping when I was hungry.
    Happy Valentine's!!!

  10. Absolutely right! Nothing wrong with indulging once in a while. Glad you had a good sleep. And I hope that bird doesn't freeze.

  12. I was really sleepy last night, too.

We've had a ton of Skunk Activity around here--phew!--but I never thought of it being a sign of spring. That MIGHT make it worth it.

  14. Oh gosh, I'm hoping hard! I smelled a skunk last night! I'm tired of the constant snow to mix to ice thing. I'm ready for spring!

  15. I am not hoping for spring at this point. We have more than a foot of snow on the ground and more coming tomorrow. I'm OK with the snow. Now, ice, that's a different matter.
