Tiny Needle Tuesday 7/8/25

 Good Morning!

Like so many of you, we are in the major humidity/stickiness game.  Ugh.  Yesterday we had some nice thunder, but only a few drops of rain in the afternoon.  No relief.  Today looks to be even warmer with less of a chance of rain.  We will get out this a.m. to get groceries, but after that I plan to stay put.  Cold shrimp is on the menu for dinner.  Half the time in this weather I don't even feel like eating (which is pretty amazing - lol).

Anyway, moving on, it's Tuesday and time for a TNT update.  And All Was For An Appil continues to grow.

The second leaf has been filled in along with another blossom and a bunch of outlining.  A lot of this was done yesterday.  It makes a big difference to be home rather than at C&M's!  (But I am missing Iris a lot.)

I'm sorry to say that Mabel the huntress has been at it again.  She's been catching birds - first a cardinal and then a wren.  I love when she catches mice and moles, but I strongly lecture her when she brings birds around.  The wren managed to fly off yesterday morning and I hope that poor creature is ok and survived.

Well, time to pour another cup of coffee and then check to make sure Fletch is getting up.  The earlier we can go for groceries, the better!  Have a wonderful Tuesday.

  1. The stitching is looking lovely as usual! We had some heavy rain this morning (just as I was walking home from the office -- I had to completely change when I got home) and it's very sticky outside, so I understand wanting to stay inside where it's cool and dry. I hope Mabel can give the birds a break and stick to the vermin from now on!

  2. It's miserably hot and sticky here too but we had a thunderstorm that went on most of the night last night. Poor birds. Hopefully they will spread the word amongst themselves and avoid Mabel's territory.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  3. The problem with me in this weather is I feel like eating but I don't feel like cooking! Lol. We went out for subs last night... but I have to cook some real food today... bleh

  4. Your stitching looks wonderful! We've got angry thunderclouds gathering in the skies, but like you, we only got a few drops yesterday. It is miserably sticky and cold shrimp sound great, but I've got to go cook something. Mabel, we love you, but no more birds, please!

  5. I’m finding it near impossible to have any quality stitching time with this crazy schedule I’m keeping. I’m either getting ready to leave or putting things away once I get home. Sunday is the only day I feel like myself anymore. I keep telling myself all this quality time with the Grands is worth it. So many memories are being made that I never got with the other four.

  6. Since Nyki passed away, we have a lot more chameleons around--she was brutal with them! I never liked it when she caught birds, either. I hope your day went well--

  7. Your stitching looks fantastic, Vera! This weather though... it is just miserable... I am really so over the 90's and all this humidity! And Miss Mabel... behave yourself! lol

  8. Love that stitching, Vera. It's a charming set of motifs, and I love seeing them come together. We don't have many outdoor cats in our neighborhood, and I am so glad. I couldn't bear it if they were regularly hunting "my" birds. I hope you can find ways to stay cool and comfortable, Vera. We have a lot of summer left . . .

  9. Our previous cat would bring us mice (from inside the house, eep). Holly is indoor only and she just watches a bug if there is any around. It's not too humid here. But it's still summer, ha ha ha.

  10. The motifs are beginning to take shape and look so fun. Today has been a hot sultry day. I'm about to go out this evening and check to see if the garden needs water.
