Tiny Needle Tuesday 8/24/21

 Good Morning!

I hope this morning finds you well and ready to face the day.  Yesterday did indeed end up being a bit on the rainy side, but not all day.  We had rain in the morning and again in the late afternoon and evening.  It was pretty muggy out there and the cicadas were making their noise, that's for sure.

Last week didn't really lend itself to doing much.  I just could not get motivated for anything.  However, there is a tiny bit of progress on both samplers that happened during the latter part of the week prior.  First up the Coverlet Birds piece.

I've started the blue between the birds and then up a little higher.  I will need to fudge this a bit as my count is off a tad bit.  LOL and I just couldn't wrap my mind around the math last week.

The Pomegranate Birds sampler also had a (very) few stitches put on it.

One side is not quite identical to the other side, but I am following the chart.  I'm ready to fill in the flower on the top right with both whiskey and the pink shades.  There is a large pink (pomegranate colored) flower in the middle that should pull this together nicely.  This is taking a bit longer than I anticipated (what with 40 count fabric and my eyes...), but fortunately it is still holding my interest.

The forecast is for another hot one today.  I plan to head to the office in a bit.  I've a conference call at 10 and I have some stuff (both work-wise and personal) that I need to print and scan.  Hopefully I can be home before Noon.

  2. Your samplers are lovely and really coming along. I do love the whiskey and pink shades together. I hope it's a short day at the office!

  3. The rain here was bad!!!! I was driving on Horsham Road and could barely see. Thankfully, it was short lived.

Poor Steve was out in it for hours. The power went out on the train line and the train was stuck at Butler Ave and Bristol Rd. He looked like a soggy mess when he got home. LOL

The cross stitch is looking good. I picked mine up the other day, but didn't get so much done.

  4. Your cross stitch is coming along well. I'm guessing there is no time deadline for finishing so you can just plug away on it when you are able. :-)
It is SO hot and muggy here too. At 10:00 last night it was still 107F "feels like" temperature. It's awful. After being outside so much in England, this is miserable.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. An all-day, drizzly rain would be welcome as it’s terribly dry here. I haven’t done any hard work for months. I just can’t get motivated.

  6. It's another hot day here. That means I'm indoors all day. I cannot tolerate the heat with this neck brace on.
Thanks for being honest about fudging your cross stitch -- I often have to do so!

  7. I've been fudging up a storm lately and it is very freeing. As long as nothing has to meet up with something I just work around being off here and there. Who's the boss of our stitching? We are...lol.

  8. WE are super hot and humid too. Allison is arriving. They predicted storms but her flight won't be seeing them! I love all of you guys and your TUesday threads!

  10. I just love the second sampler's colours and its graceful stems. You're doing beautiful work on both.

  11. Today was a melter for me, weather-wise, too! I'm ready for a break! lol The two stitchings look great-I would fudge it a bit and not rip out at this point! They both look good and no one will ever know! I hope your eye is improving every day!!!

  12. I continue to love that two-tone flower. And if something is off in the Coverlet Birds, I really can't tell!

  13. It's going to be hot here as well, thank goodness for AC! I hope you get done what you want to get done at the office. Love the stitching project.

  14. I am so over these end of summer days that are hot and muggy 24/7. I want to have even the tiniest hint of fall... badly! lol

    But your stitching... gorgeous!
