Well there's an imaginative title for you!
Colin was over for dinner last night and brought some produce from his garden plot at work - romaine lettuce and radishes.
The lettuce was like micro-greens and so good. he made a simple salad of the two dressed in olive oil, freshly ground salt & pepper. It was perfect to go with the pasta we had (sauce with previously grilled hot and sweet sausage, garden onions and peppers). Col also brought a nice bottle of chianti to go with the meal. After that, no one felt like peach pie! Fletch did have a piece later in the evening as a snack and pronounced it great!
Tonight's menu is burgers grilled, corn and cole slaw. Hopefully there will be room for a piece of pie after that. I'm also hoping for a game or two of Cribbage.
Meanwhile, today is our "End of Summer Bash" at work. Folks are bringing in their children...a Disney movie in the a.m. along with face painting and balloons...tee shirt dyeing. A caterer is setting up a BBQ station on the deck and the lobby of the building is being taken over with games for the kids: mini golf, mini basketball, tic-tac toss and who knows what all. It will be a noisy day! But, should be fun for the kids.
Nice to be on the down-side of the work week. Hope everyone is having a good one!
Fresh-from-the-garden "stuff" is always so tasty! So nice of Colin to share! XO
