Oh the excitement!! I just discovered a new (well, new to me and really, this will be it's 2nd year, so yes - new!) fiber festival that is close to home! Woo-Hoo
Steel City Fiber Festival is in Allentown which is less than an hour away from me. And, the majority of it is indoors (I'm thinking much less mud than MDSW should the weather be lousy). The site proclaims 97 vendors and entrance and parking are both free. The dates are April 8-9...so just two months away.
My friend who lives in Maryland will be coming up to my place and we'll go together - then she can stay overnight and not have too long a day of it.
I need to save my $$$. So happy to find a festival closer to home.
Oh cool! It's always nice to find things like that close by.
ReplyDeleteWe have three in our area - The Frolic (in Toronto) in spring. And Needle Arts in Sept and The Woodstock Fleece in Oct (both about an hour west of us). Mom and I stopped going to the Frolic and Needle Arts because they were just too packed with people - you couldn't move. Sadly, Woodstock is getting that way too. It's great that our craft is popular - I just don't like the crowds.
OH! I may have to look into this one ...
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! It's that time of year, isn't it? I am getting all hot and bothered by the idea that the MDSW is only weeks away not. I don't need a thing and my fleece washing has stalled due to ungodly hot summers but I am still excited all the same. Ahhhh....the promise of spring!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let me know how it is!!! It sounds like fun.
ReplyDeletehmmmm, I might have to check that out! It's a drive for me but maybe I can convince my husband it's worth the outing :) :)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you and a bit jealous. Have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteVery fun to find a close fiber fest and share with a pal! Great time of year for it. Our Chicago Stitches is in summer and IM too busy then to go. Wish it was now. Happy planning
