Wednesday Miscellaneous

Hi All,

A bit of a mish-mash of a post today, and no pictures.

A little warmer today...upper 30's!!  But tomorrow, yikes!  The high is supposed to be in the 20's and only in the teens on Friday.  With Wind!  And possibly a bit of the white stuff coming down (which I would love).

Too much food in my office - soft pretzels, cookies, candies, catered lunches, breakfast on Friday.  Help!  I need to just sit back and drink some herbal tea and forget all about the food.

So far I have not done what I had hoped to get done.  No wrapping yet.  No shipping yet.  No baking yet.  No finished Christmas knitting yet (except Emory's skirt).  I do have hope, but I also know that nothing will happen tonight.  Oh well, c'est la vie.  On a more positive note, our tree is up and decorated (as of Sunday night).  I tried to get some pictures, but nothing turned out.

The little skirt for Emory blocked out just fine!  I was so surprised (and relieved/happy).  I will make sure that someone gets a picture of her in it so that I can share that later.

Next Monday (19th) is our Christmas luncheon at work.  That will be delicious (more high calorie food).  So nice, my office is closed both Friday the 23rd and Monday the 26th for the holiday!  And, I am also off the 29th and 30th since my brother and sister-in-law will be visiting us those days.

My reading has slowed a bit.  Currently it is "A Gentleman in Moscow" which I am enjoying, but I just can't seem to get through it.

Just heard about an exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art:  Paint the Revolution: Mexican Modernism http://www.philamuseum.org/exhibitions/840.html  I really like the paintings of both Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera and would love to go...just wish I knew about it earlier as it is only on till January 8th.

That's all I have for now.  Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the season.

  3. Ooooh, that exhibit would be wonderful to see! I enjoy both artists' work as well! I hope you can manage to go. I loved A Gentleman in Moscow. I hope you end up enjoying it too. This time of year is awful when it comes to food temptations! I feel fat just thinking about it. lol!

  5. Christmas memories are smothered in favorite foods. I resist baking and making treats anymore because I just end of eating them. My resistance is low when comfort food is involved.

Glad you will have a long break for Christmas and a visit with family members.

  6. Ah, Christmas! Tons of food is advertised and pushed on us in order for January to admonish us with Weight Watcher commercials and sales on exercise equipment. Sigh.

I have three knitted gifts off needles and ready for steam-blocking. STILL. Ugh. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE JUST DO THAT FOR ME?

  7. I am shipped, but not all the things I have at home for presents have been wrapped. I have my cards out! Hooray for that and will still be working all through both weeks of Christmas, yikes the time is flying by!

  8. That exhibit in Phili sounds intriguing! I wish I had the kind of life where I could jump on a plane and see it.
It is a tough time to stay away from sweets. They just seem to jump into my hands and mouth!
