Dear Friends,
The wind is HOWLING and has been since yesterday afternoon. We were mild yesterday. At one point I looked at my phone and it was 50 degrees! Then the winds picked up and the temp dropped rather rapidly. During the night it sounded as though the house would be blown apart! When I looked out the back bedroom window this morning I could see that our thistle feeder is on the ground (again). The wind is just under 40 mph and steady...as in non-stop. Whew!
After doing absolutely no stitching the past couple or few weeks, it felt good to finally get back to it yesterday afternoon. Here is an overall look at where Appil stands as of this morning:
I managed to completely fill in the bird and then outlined the balance of the tree. That bottom row (not finished) is the bottom of the piece! Still a whole lot to be stitched, but luckily still much fun. Here's a close up of the bird:
I'm hoping to finish the brown, brown, brown of the tree trunk before the next TNT. We shall see...
Meanwhile, my dryer may be broken! I don't really need or want this, but a load of towels has been in the dryer since yesterday afternoon and after a few cycles they are still not dry! At least the washer is still functioning as it should!
I'd like to get to the liquor store for wine at some point today (trying to avoid that place tomorrow - New Year's Eve) and we do have grocery shopping to do. Fingers crossed we do not get blown over. There is no link up tomorrow for Unraveled Wednesday, but I will be back with a post. See you then!

You did get a lot done on Appil since we saw it last. I'm sorry you have so much brown on the tree, but it will be nice to have it done (whenever). Good luck grocery shopping in all this wind! It was unsettling hearing it while I was trying to sleep last night.
ReplyDeleteYou did get quite a bit done!! It is looking fantastic and I like that bird! This is a really fun looking sampler! Good luck today at the liquor store today! We have lots of snow falling this morning, but it is the light and fluffy type, whew!
ReplyDeleteNow that is a cute little bird. He looks like he's dancing!
ReplyDeleteThat's a happy bird! The wind was crazy here yesterday but is calmer today. I really thought it might take the roof off.
ReplyDeleteMy dryer is still broken but the repair dude showed us a trick to get it going. It's going to cost more to replace the circuit board than to buy a new dryer so I guess that'll be in the works in the New Year when the trick stops working.
