Tiny Needle Tuesday 9/9/25

 Hello Everyone,

Brrr, it's a chilly morning here in Eastern PA.  I put the bathroom heat on while I took a shower this morning and am now safely tucked into pj pants and a sweatshirt.  Soon I'll need to move and dry my hair since my head is cold!  I slept with the windows wide open, but an extra blanket on the bed.  It was a delicious feeling.

My making time has been curtailed since caring for Iris every day.  It is honestly a joy, but by the time I get home I'm too tired to pull out stitching or knitting.  I can read (and I do) some, but I can't find the brain width to do any making.  And, as you know from yesterday's post, my weekend was pretty full.  Thus, not much stitching was accomplished.

The pale blue above the star was all that was stitched over the weekend.  I had hoped to complete that cloud and also outline the other stars below, but there's always another day.

The Iris news is that she is now crawling forward, but often prefers to scoot around on her butt.  Mostly though she prefers to stand and does that ALL THE TIME.  I predict she will be walking any day now.  She will turn 9 months old on Friday and that is just so hard to believe.

Time for me to dry my hair.  I'll be back tomorrow with a minimal knitting update and a reading update.  Hope your Tuesday is a good one!

  1. Your stitching looks beautiful and I'm sure you'll get to do more when the time is right. I slept with the windows open but was too chilly to get up and get a blanket. I'll do that today before I go to bed tonight; it is a delicious feeling. Have a good day with mobile, standing Iris today!

  2. The stitching time will come back; for now, your time and energy are being spent on something much more important! I thought Molly was an early walker at 11 months, but sounds like Iris is going to far surpass that. Chilly here, too -- 47º when we got up this morning! We're supposed to go back to low 80s this week, so I'll enjoy the cool air while it lasts.

  3. I believe you did more stitching than I did and I don't have the excuse that you do! Sigh. I have added stitching to my weekly list and I hope that helps me get back on track!

  4. When I fostered my two grands 8 years back, it was a jolt to have a 1 and 4 year old round the clock-all the time! I was in a state of exhaustion for quite a while but I learned to adjust and be pleased with minimal crafting output! You are forging strong ties with Iris!

  5. I think this might be my favourite of all your projects. I'm loving watching it all unfurl.

  6. We have to do another two day overnight sitting job next week while the MIL is in Croatia and Slovenia. That woman never stays home. It must be nice.

  7. Catching up... Iris!! My nephew Mack always scooted around on his butt -- I always figured he wanted to keep his hands free for grabbing stuff! He sure could move. Our mornings have been pretty cool -- I need to turn on the seat & steering wheel warmers! It warms up nicely, though. These are some of my favorite days.

  8. We've been able to sleep with a window open the past few nights and Lucy loves that now there's an afghan on the bed to make a nest in. NINE months?! time flies ... and how fun to be there for all of it.
