Good Morning!
After showing only one or two flowers per day, yesterday our hibiscus went into overdrive! There are still more buds. While other things have not fared as well, this is the best year our hibiscus has ever had! Fletch found another tomato and cucumber ready to pick!
And Colin gave us a quart of paste tomatoes from the farm...I need to make some sauce.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Ours was very relaxed and fun. I managed to read a lot, stitch and knit! On Sunday we ventured over to C&M's for dinner. Colin grilled hot Italian sausages and sautéed some yellow squash, onions and peppers. He also baked a fresh loaf of sourdough bread. We brought a big bowl of eggplant caponata and Mailing made an incredible peach crisp. YUM!! Afterwards, we sat out back with a nice fire. Very relaxing.
Now it's Tuesday and time for a tiny needle update. The first one for September. I did manage to get a bit of stitching completed.
The cloud on the upper right has now been completely filled in and the cloud underneath has been outlined. And look! The first star has appeared!! There are still more stars underneath the clouds and then I will get to the moon. Here's a look at the overall piece so far.
Today it is back to caring for Iris. On Friday she stood up all on her own! She was in a downward dog position and just stood up! Scared the sh*t out of me as she was on a hard floor and I was a bit of a distance away. But she plopped down on her butt after a little bit. She is still not crawling, but scoots around on her butt very easily. I think she may skip crawling and just start walking. Bottom line, my hands are full when watching her! LOL
Here's hoping that your September is off to a great start!
My Rachel was not a crawler either... those surprise "stand ups" are a bit shocking! It amazes me how quickly they can move... even not crawling! Ha! Your stitching looks amazing... I have not done much on my cross stitch but I did manage to get my August stitching finished! Woot!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on reaching the first star! Your stitching looks great and I always enjoy seeing it on Tuesdays. Iris standing up probably surprised you and her but now she's had a taste of being upright. You are definitely going to be busy!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that Iris stood up! Glad to hear you had an enjoyable long weekend full of good food and good company.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful weekend you had, Vera! It's so fun that you were right there to "catch" little Iris if she fell (and to "catch" her in the act of standing, too!). My Erin walked super early - and didn't crawl until AFTER she could already walk. Before walking, she preferred rolling and "scootching" around on her bottom. How wonderful that you can be right there for Iris's "firsts." XO
ReplyDeleteWhoa.....standing up is quite an accomplishment. Poor Baby Grand looks like a mashed banana from all the bumps and bruises he's getting trying to pull himself up on everything. We've got to go back in a couple of weeks for another 2 day stay while MIL is in Croatia. I'll be curious to see the changes in him in that time. He's like a new baby every time I see him.
ReplyDeleteStanding up! Life is going to get really fun for you. When our grandsons started moving my step count rocketed 🥰
ReplyDeleteIris is standing up! What a big girl. Life will never be the same. How fun but how exhausting caring for a mobile baby is.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
That is a cute little star!
ReplyDeleteIris standing already? Time flies!
