Good Morning All,
How are you? I had such a wonderful day with Iris yesterday and am anticipating more of the same today.
Over the weekend I noticed two small, framed stitched pieces on a wall in my office. They are pieces I stitched for Colin's room probably 35 years ago! I got them off the wall, dusted them and put them in my bag to take over to Iris yesterday. She likes them and Colin wants to put them on a wall in Iris' bedroom. Hopefully Mailing will agree (she was at work yesterday).
So, here they are!
The Fox and Grapes. I love the crow (of course) on top of the house...and the fox. Too cute.
Winter Garden. Cute little bunnies and a moon in the sky as well as smoke curling from the chimney.
I think both of these pieces are from The Prairie Schooler, but I'm not positive. I no longer have the charts and The Prairie Schooler is (sadly) not producing charts now. They are both stitched on linen and I used DMC threads. It makes me happy that Iris will be enjoying them.
Have a lovely Thursday!

They are both wonderful pieces and it's so nice that Iris will be enjoying them! It's great to pass things along (books, cross-stitch pieces, etc.) to the next generation. I've been gradually cleaning out my kitchen (cast iron pans, a stock pot, extra cookie sheets and muffin tins) and giving them to Ryan. Have a happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI did several pieces for my kids rooms when they were little and I have, likewise, sent them all on to them for them to use as they desire! The girls have their "birth samplers" hung in their houses... but I don't think Sam's does (Sally's esthetic is nothing like mine... which is absolutely okay!)
ReplyDeleteI love that Iris will have the same pieces that hung in her Dad's room as a boy. I've made birth cross-stitches for all of our kids and grands. I have no idea what has happened to most of them. When we moved Dennis's Mom out of her house as we went through it's rooms I noticed that there was at least one thing I had made her in each room. At least on thing, some had several. I've kept some of them. It made my heart happy to know that they meant a lot to her.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Those are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteSo charming! I wish I had children to stitch for!
