Good Morning Everyone!
Once again we find ourselves at the mid-point of the week. It's time to link up with Kat and her Band of Merry Unravelers to talk about making and reading. Always a fun day for posts.
If you read my blog, you know that I finished the first "rugby sock" last week and I'm happy to say that sock #2 has been started.
Not only started, but halfway down the leg heading for the heel flap. You all know that I am not a match-matchy person, but for those of you who are, the stripes on sock #2 line up with the stripes of sock #1.
Voila! Matchy-Matchy.
None of the swatching I had intended to do was done...but there is always tomorrow.
Only one book was finished last week. A Good Animal by Sara Maurer is a coming of age story set in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on a sheep farm. It was an ok read - not great, but good at the time I read it. I found it to be a bit predictable and even a little "schmaltzy" but, as I already said, ok.
As I wait for some books to come in at my library, I'm back in the French countryside with Bruno, Chief of Police. More deaths and plenty of wine and food - perfect!!
Today I'll be back with Iris and am looking forward to that. I hope your Wednesday is a good one.

I'm not adamant about hand-knit socks matching, but it's nice when you're knitting with self-striping yarn and can get them to match! I hope you have some good books come in soon and have a lovely day with Iris!
ReplyDeleteMy Sam went to college in Sault Ste. Marie! I am listening to 100 Years of Solitude... and not loving it. I will give it a bit more before bailing on it though. Your socks are delightful and match! A good combination! Have fun with Iris today!
ReplyDeleteI like FDW yarn for socks; the stripes are always nice and crisp and they seem to match well. Your socks look great and you've got plenty of enjoyable knitting left. I hope Iris has recovered from her jet lag and you guys have a great day together today.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of stripes on the second sock! I finished a 400 plus Jo Nesbo book this week and have another on order from the library. I can't get enough of icy Norwegian murders but Bruno sounds like a trip I need to take this summer for my daily murder fix.
ReplyDeleteThe second sock is really moving along--I like when they match but try not to stress if they don't! lol
ReplyDeleteLook at you go with those socks! Sometimes mine match, sometimes they don't. No big deal if they don't but I feel like I won the lottery when they do. Ha!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day with your little love. I face-timed with our two London girls yesterday. It's hard to believe baby W is 3 weeks old today. Time is flying. AND, Miss Piper spent the night with us Saturday night. I did her toes and she did mine. I love our 13 year old.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Love those socks.
ReplyDeleteYou are making fast progress on those socks!
ReplyDeleteI'm not that huge on matchy matchy, but I'll make a slight effort here and there. Yours are fantastic. What is the Bruno story?
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun when they match without trying!
ReplyDeleteYou took the words right out of my mouth. "Not only started but half way down the leg . . . " Ha. It always tickles me when striped socks match but if they don't I enjoy that too. Enjoy Bruno.
ReplyDeleteI said it last week, I love the colorway immensely!
