Greetings my Friends,
And welcome to March! How was your weekend. Mine was just about perfect! After taking a couple of weeks off from yoga due to my back bothering me as well as my arthritis acting up - particularly in my shoulders (thank you dampness and extreme cold), I finally went back to a couple of Yin Yoga classes. It felt wonderful. Yin is such a relaxing practice.
Saturday, the last day of February, dawned sunny and warmer. In fact, it ended up feeling just like a Spring day! For the first time in I don't know how long, I went out for a walk. Due to all the snow melt, I opted to walk along the Perkiomen River Trail in Oaks which is paved. The sky was a gorgeous blue.
There were plenty of walkers and joggers as well as folks on bikes. I think everyone felt a tremendous relief to finally be outside in comfortable weather. There was still plenty of ice along the banks of the river.
Big chunks and shelves of ice. There was even a large amount of ice across the path at one point, but easy enough to get over it.
Scents were in the air. It smelled like Spring - a bit mucky and almost swamp like. No signs of wildlife yet (other than geese flying overhead), but it won't be long now. This coming Saturday temps are supposed to reach 70+!!!
The weekend overall was a great balance of things. I found plenty of time for knitting, stitching and reading as well as getting outside. But I also managed to get some needed chores done (laundry, cleaning the bathrooms, etc.).
Meanwhile, today is a bit on the cooler side. My phone tells me it is 23 out, but feels like 16. My schedule is a bit different this week. I'll be watching Iris on Tuesday and Thursday, so I will head to the grocery store today. We are in desperate need of fresh produce.
Did you have a good weekend? I certainly hope so.

Our Saturday was similarly springlike -- so delightful! Molly was working at the smoothie place and reported that it was incredibly busy, to the point that they ran out of a lot of fruit! It's cold again today but is supposed to warm up as the week goes on, and we're expecting rain. That will likely be annoying when I have to be outside, but I'll take rain over snow. I hope you stay warm while you do your errands today!
ReplyDeleteIt was a good weekend here as well! I headed off to the grocery store yesterday morning and I saw that an ice cream shop was open! I am not sure who wants ice cream at 10am, but there you have it! Frankie and I took some nice long walks as well... that fresh air is such a good thing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely weekend! I thought briefly about washing my kitchen curtains and hanging them out on Saturday but I decided I should probably wait until maybe this weekend. I should probably go to the grocery store today, too, for produce and fruit. Plus, it's supposed to snow and rain tomorrow and I hate getting wet while carrying in groceries. Have fun and I hope you can keep your bill under $100!
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine the smell of the nature walk! I'm glad you are feeling relief from your back acting up!
ReplyDeleteI can smell it from here! our temps dipped down over the weekend but they can't stay there forever!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for some turtle action!
ReplyDeleteWe're having a lot of backing-and-forthing in terms of weather and temperature and precipitation here. But spring is definitely in the air! And that's fine by me! XO
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here reading your post and watching snow fall. Yes, snow. It's really coming down.
ReplyDeleteI told Dennis that I think our weather is schizophrenic this year. We go from 70's to teens in the space of one day. I sure enjoy the warmer days we've been having though. The cold days I just hibernate inside.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
How lovely to be able to get out in the sunshine. We have the typical March - ups and downs in temps. Rain is in the forecast later this week. The weekend was chilly but we had some relaxing days.
ReplyDeleteIt was sunny and warm here on Saturday and Sunday but not THAT warm. I am so ready for it and our temps are supposed to climb consistently this week. Bring on the melting because there is still SO MUCH SNOW!
